STAR TREK 40TH ANNIVERSARY Tribute Video

While I think its all assembled beautifully, I was just a tad miffed at the complete non-inclusion of TOS effects. I understand why it was done, but still... at least ONE shot of the original effects from the '60s would have been nice.

Re: STAR TREK 40TH ANNIVERSARY Tribute Video V.2

^ Do planet surface matt shots count? I still find they stand-up well even today. That process didn't change much throughout most of TNG & DS9.

At the time, I admit to being a little too excited about the CBS remastering. Having seen some of them now, I still find the FX done for 'Trials and Tribble-ations' to be the most realistic. It's been a while now since I finished work on this but I recall almost including a shot from 'The Tholian Web', a personal favourite and the finest work done for any 60's TV show. But it probably lost out in favour of a character reaction shot, since I'd already got the ship represented a few times.

Great job! I'm a sucker for tribute vids. I had actually been planning on setting one to this same music theme for a couple of years focusing on the life of Data. Realisticly though, I don't know if I'd have ever finished. Kudos to you though! I'll be sharing this with most of my Trekkie friends and family.

I've decided to enter the video in Creation's Music Video Contest in time for their London Convention. So I'll see how that goes.

My thanks to Sebastiaan, who's very kindly offered to host the video over at Final Frontier Media.

Feel free to drop by and take a look, especially this great DS9 one called In Caelum Fero.

Christopher, Your music video about 40 years of star trek is still one of my favourites. The chosen music is just great. There couldn't be any other music chosen for something like this. The use for the guardian of forever is just brilliant. There where many time portals in star trek, but you used the original one, which I think is just great. I love to watch the video over and over again. I don't have that with a lot of videos, not even with my own (only In Caelum fero then ;) ) So, I hope you will create more music videos so I can add them to my website :)

Re: STAR TREK 40TH ANNIVERSARY Tribute Video V.2

Wow, everytime I watch this it makes me want to grab all my Star Trek DVDs and start with Broken Bow and work my way to Star Trek: Nemesis. Brings back so many wonderful memories and makes me truly realize how Star Trek has been right there with me every step of the way through my nineteen years.

Outstanding job! If I were at Paramount, I would recommend that they use this as a trailer for the entire Star Trek franchise.

Your video is truly wonderful. A lovely film of moments and the accompanying music is excellent. Thanks for a great treat!

Once again I'd just like to thank you for this excellent work. I'm going to unpin this now - but I'm going to keep it from being purged from the database down the line.

Holy cow. I only just found this thread. That video is absolutely gorgeous... perfectly done. The choice of the Inner Light suite was inspired. And I freely admit that a tear welled up when old Scotty toasted his shipmates... what a fantastic edit that was!

OUTstanding.

I'm bumping this for simply because this is quite possibly the best and most affecting post I've seen here all year. Hopefully newcomers will check it out, because all Trek fans should have the oppertunity to catch it.

Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute Video

Hi! Can someone (eg. would Christopher, the creator of the video clip still be on these forums? hopefully?) please identify the Star Trek series or movie that the vulcan female on 5:58/7:40 of Christopher's video, was taken from?

Many thanks!

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute Video

Doh! I've been rumbled.... :D

No trouble. It's Mirror T'Pol from 'In a Mirror Darkly, Part II'.

Looking particularly hot without that stooge wig.

That's some digging you did to find this thread, AhBeng.

I really ought to do list of where each and every clip came from at some point.

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute Video

Thank you very much for your reply (and of course, for your wonderful tribute video!), Chris! :)

That would be really awesome! I'm sure I speak for all Star Trek aficionados that such a list/article (detailing your terrific tribute video) would be very, *very* much appreciated!

Once again, really fantastically awesome video there, Chris!

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute Vi

I just watched that for the first time, and it was pretty impressive. IMHO that was proffesional quality work there.

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute Vi

Yeah when I first saw this I was so moved I had to download a copy for my iPod.

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute

It's a nice little montage, I've only just come across it this morning.

It could do with some more upbeat music though! Trek ain't dead just yet.

Re: Question regarding a scene from Christopher's Tribute

Trek will never be death. I've more music videos available (including this one) at my website. Just clikc the link in my signature. Enjoy!
