Star Trek - $4.53 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million (Final numbers)

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Man, what's with all this pessimistic anti-Terminator BS?

There's enough room for more than one blockbuster this summer. Trek has already done extremely well and there's no doubt there's going to be a sequel.

There's no reason to bash Terminator and make dire predictions for it -- you guys haven't even seen it yet! If the film is good, it will have legs...if not, it won't.

Normal people aren't going to boycott Terminator just so Trek can make 25-30 mil more or whatever.

After Thursday, to me it will have had it's moment in the sun -- time for another films moment to shine.

Hey, we're a Star Trek board. We're a little biased. ;)

Or a Vulcan arched eyebrow... (won't go the childish R-rated route) :p

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Great, great numbers. Wow. A few weeks ago I never would have predicted this kind of success.

OH MY GOD THE SKY IS FALLING.. THIS MOVIE WAS A DISA... What? The movie is actually doing well, Dogs and cats are not living together and I DO have a penis.....

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Still excellent news... why is Wolverine still playing at more venues though?

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Man, what's with all this pessimistic anti-Terminator BS?

This is a Trek site. Of course many people support Star Trek and hopes it will do better than the movies that it goes up against. It's only natural. ;)

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Great to see the movie doing so well! The staying power is awesome. Originally I was hoping it would beat Wolverine in its opening weekend...but we all know how it goes with the tortoise and the hare. Slow and steady always wins the race. Not that there's anything slow about a $79 million opening weekend. :p ;)

Re: Star Trek - $4.53 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million (Final numb

Funny how Star Trek overtook A&D on Sat & Sun but not on Mon.

Re: Star Trek - $4.53 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million (Final numb

ST will overtake A&D tomorrow I hope!

Could go either way... the long weekend will be the "decider"...as far as a sequel goes, anyway.

Still worried about getting a sequel?

I'll be quite honest, yes, given that it did cost 150 M, and has to make twice that (IMO) to turn enough of a profit; but then, I'm by nature a worry wart, what trying to help a 16 year old son make the "right" decisions in life.
