After his tepid Enterprise novels and the ebook price hike, I'd skipped it. But I need something escapist right now, so thanks for that recommendation.

It's a moody, standalone, character-driven, action-adventure. I enjoyed it a lot.
I think my 2010 Trek highlight was finishing my 200th Trek novel...which happened to be "A Hard Rain" by Dean Wesley Smith.
I had to knock it out at some point. At least the cover art is top notch.

I think Rosetta was a tad weaker than the others, but overall Stern's Enterprise books were rather good. I would really have liked to see him tackle the Relaunch.
Haven't read The Children of Kings yet for some reason. I have it on my shelf since release, but somehow it got lost in the shuffle of my breaking into the Doctor Who NSAs it seems.
