Spock Prime: He inferred that universe ending paradoxes would insue should he break his promise.

 

[Rush Limborg]

Spock: (smirking) You lied....

 

[Leandar]

Spock Prime: Oh, I... I implied.

 

[Rush Limborg]

Spock: A gamble....

 

[Leandar]

Spock Prime: An act of faith. One I hope you will repeat in the future in Starfleet.

 

[Wynterhawk]

Spock: In the face of extinction, it is only logical I resign my starfleet commission and help rebuild our race.

 

[Leandar]

Spock Prime: And yet, you can be in two places at once. I have already located a suitable planet on which to establish a Vulcan colony. Spock, do yourself a favor. Put aside logic. Do what feels right. (begins to walk away) Since my customary farewell would seem oddly self serving, I shall simply say... (holds up hand in Vulcan salute) ... good luck. (Spock returns the salute and Spock Prime walks away leaving Spock to contemplate his older self's words....)

 

[Wynterhawk]

Barnett: This assembly calls Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Your inspirational valor and supreme dedication to your comrades, is in keeping wiht the highest traditions of service, and reflect utmost credit to yourself, your crew and the Federation. It is my honor to award you with this commendation. By starfleet Order 28455, you are hereby directed to report to Admiral Pike, U.S.S. Enterprise, for duty as his relief.

 

[Leandar]

(Kirk shakes the Admiral's hand and then walks over to Pike, in an admiral's uniform and a wheelchair)

Kirk: I relive you, sir.

 

[Wynterhawk]

Pike: I am relieved.

 

[Rush Limborg]

Pike: (chuckles) I am relieved....

Congratulations, Captain.

(room explodes in applause)

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Thank you, sir.

Congratulations, Captain.

Finishing:

Pike (cont.): Your father would be proud.

(room explodes in applause)

 

[Rush Limborg]

Spock Prime: (Looks down from the balcony, and nods, satisfied) Thrusters...on full.

 

[Leandar]

(Enterprise bridge)

Sulu: Maneuvering thrusters and impulse engines at your command, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Chekov: Shields and Weapon systems online.

 

[Leandar]

Uhura: Dock control reports ready, Captain.

Kirk comes on the bridge Bones, buckle up.

Scotty: Dilithium chamber's at maximum, Captain. (looks up) Get down! (pan up to see Keenser in uniform, sitting on top of a console)
