Star Trek 1-VI re-release

It looks like Star Trek 1-VI will be re-released on 4K very soon. No word yet on extras.

But the big news is that they will finally come with incredible new artwork.

I mean, I own the 4K's already - but that artwork......man it's good.

I love Matt Ferguson's reissue poster art.

I would... but there's the film presentations - could they not fix that matte shot issue in The Motion Picture Director's Edition?
The San Francisco tram station, under the observation windows, where there's a frozen grab of legs hovering over the extras walking underneath?
Put the International opening prologue on the front of The Voyage Home?

The discs will be identical to previous pressings though obviously, as the 60th Original Series indicates.

Gone are the days where The Wrath of Khan first hit Bllu-ray with an error and a replacement program to swap for a fixed error. But you know, if you're intentionally rebuying to find exact same content with a problem or two that would theoretically be fixed.

Yeah, they will be identical pressings. Matt Ferguson's reissue poster art is almost enough to make me double dip, but I will buy the posters instead. I just got the Picard Ready Room print from Vice Press and it is a thing of beauty.

I am disappointed in the 60th Anniversary, Paramount should have worked on a special edition of V in my opinion. I'd also dearly love to see Voyager and DS9 in HD. I know people trot out that it's expensive and difficult, but if something like Babylon 5 can get a remaster then DS9 and VOY which have a bigger audience should get one too. Also, scanning to 4K is a lot easier nowadays and some of the guys that worked on the DE were actually VFX artists on DS9 and VOY.
