Fair enough. I won't debate you. I'll just say that Stan Lee was at various points Editor-in-Chief, Publisher, and Chairman of Marvel. He had a lot more to do with the money than you're implying.

I'm breaking my own rule here, but to wit:

Stan Lee never held any of these positions, except EIC, until after Jack Kirby left Marvel for DC. The EIC has no control over payroll. Martin Goodman, who was publisher when Jack Kirby was there, was quoted as saying "If Jack Kirby wants more money, he can turn in more pages. That's the only way he's going to get it."

And finally, John Byrne's favorite question to people like you:

"And where was your office at Marvel in 1963?"
