stalkin' my peeps - Welcome New Members thread!

Re: George says hello.

I recall a fan art schematic of a TOS era ship with many many nacelles. I didn't bother to count.

Re: George says hello.

Geroge, ignore my earlier comment. This is turning out to be a multi-nacelle discussion, then. ;)

I love the Stargazer. Four nacelles. <3

EDIT: Just as a tip, George, you can use the "Multi Quote" function. Just click on the ones you want to quote, and when you reply, you get all of the quotes in instead of three to 4 messages in a row.
Ah thanks, that comes in handy :)

Anyway, I must say I'm not too much of a fan of the constellation class to be honest. The saucer looks as though the nacelle pylons were pierced through it.

I prefer the Prometheus class, or, better, the Cheyenne class.

Looking to make some more friends

I am looking to make some friends, as most of the people i know think I am a weirdo for liking star trek so maybe i will be considered somewhat normal around here.

Re: Looking to make some more friends

This thread will probably be folded into the introduction thread. Nevertheless, welcome aboard.

Re: Looking to make some more friends

Real friends are better than internet friends.

An old friends roommate turned out to be a massive Doctor Who fan. I would like some mindly geeky straight friends, I just have no clue where to meet them. It's not like we have comic cons around here.

Re: Looking to make some more friends

Real friends usually are better than internet friends, but I've become quite close with a few people who started off as the latter. There's nothing wrong with that in my book.

Pleased to meet you, lankyknight. I don't have the problem with friends knowing I like Trek too much because over the years I've weeded out the folks who have more drastically different takes on life than I do, although that's not to say differences are a bad thing. Indeed, they can spice things up quite a bit. I still have some friends who have either only seen the new movie or haven't even done that, and that's fine because we have other interests.

Around here, you'll obviously find some pals who share your enthusiasm for Star Trek, so enjoy your stay. We're all mostly harmless here.

Re: Looking to make some more friends

I gotta ask. What makes you think the people you know in RL think you are a weirdo. Did they tell you that?

I guess I'm new. It's been long enough that most people wouldn't remember me. So, hi :)

Hi. My name is Kirsten and I'm new here. I cleverly missed this thread and posted a new link saying hi but thought I'd check in here too since I have now been pointed in this direction!

Hi Kirsten, Welcome to the forum

I think you'll find a lot to interest you here in addition to Star Trek

Welcome. Always good to have more Brits on here. There's a few of us in the same sort of age group here; I'm 31 and like DS9, TOS & TNG. See you around.
