More action and less conversation. Which is why Paramount would be interested in a guy like Justin Lin.
Dear Para, if that were the case, why is DC putting out Batman vs. Superman at the same time as the Gotham TV series? And how can it be that there are fans happily enjoying one while awaiting the other? Could it be, just perhaps, that nobody but anally retentive continuity-obsessed fanboys have this ridiculous mindset that only one continuity can survive?Para Mobius said:It is the CBS non compete the ends in 15 days, my word is they will start announcing plans for the new Star Trek TV series around January 30th. That has to be on of the strongest reasons Paramount does not want to invest in another movie, you will have potentially 2 TV series on air of high quality in the prime universe before it could now be seen in Dec 2016 with all the wonky JJtrek alternative stuff. In CBS Romulas will still be there, Vulcan still there.. no transwarp l beaming.... prime Spock never left ... and then they release a JJtrek movie. Does not a profitable business model make!

Did anyone else think of Elvis when they read this?![]()
How do they make Star Trek appeal to the foreign market?

Yeah...I was wondering why they would shoot the thing in 2016 when the 50th Anniversary is that year. If they shoot in 2016, the movie wouldn't be out until 2017, and that would make no sense. Unless they shoot in January, have a super-fast post-production, and release in November/December. It's possible -- they did it with Casino Royale -- but Trek movies are heavy on the CGI so I doubt that would be the case.
2015 would be more likely.
That, or they don't care if it is on time for the 50th anniversary.
Personally, it would be nice to have both but if we have to choose one or the other, I want a good movie, instead of being rushed just to released on a 50th anniversary date. Besides if you count The Cage, we've already passed the 50th anniversary for Trek, anyway.

Or, Elvis
Or, Danny Ocean and the Gang
Wait, either this idea is inspired or I should keep my day job:
The George Clonney Oceans 13 Gang
as AltNuKrew for the re-re-booted NuHacked ReDirected
"Star Trek, Oceans Voyage"
Give me the love! YES!!!

No. It won't.
It may prove to be a lost opportunity for a bit of extra revenue on merchandise but Paramount will be happier with a movie that does well at the box office in 2017 rather than a rushed one that tanks in 2016 just so they can meet an anniversary that holds any meaning whatsoever for a tiny fraction of the overall audience. Better box office will trump lost merchandise revenue.
