ST3 Reportedly Being Filmed in Vancouver in 2016

I keep sensing this attempt to paint all those who want the return of Prime as being tasteless fans who rubber-stamped anything Berman spit out, though, and it's just not that black and white.

I don't think so. But I also think those that want the Prime universe back don't realize whatever is next, regardless of timeline, is going to be closer in tone to the Abrams movies than anything produced by Berman.

I don't think so either - Prime and Berman Trek contain my fondest memories in the entire franchise, I loved nearly all of it, but even I know times have moved on. I just don't see the justification for it.

No one should take long-ago Trek TV writers seriously.

This made me laugh. ;)

So, even Treklit fans were only marginally interested in a Romulan War arc.

That could have something to do with the author. I bought the first book and couldn't make it through it. Michael A. Martin probably shouldn't be writing novels. They are mostly terrible.

This. The subject matter was fascinating, the writer was three hundred kinds of terrible. I would have rather read a book about a person who is writing a biography of a person who watched another person watch paint dry.

The reason some people are still pining for Enterprise isn't, IMHO, because it was that good of a show. It's just because it was chronologically last in the prime continuity shows and it seemed like it hadn't been off the air too long to be resurrected. It's just kind of a lazy and uncreative way to pine for the return of Prime continuity.

That is certainly not the case. You don't see a lot of people pining for the return of the Edsel, and those that do make you wonder what it is that they are wanting to see.

Yep.

The irony of pining for Enterprise being of course, that it conveniently exists in both continuities.

Yes that is the funny thing ENT Exists both in BR Trek and Prime Continuities...
Also ironic, those on Facebook going "Prime! Prime! Prime!" and laying everything from deliberately trying to kill Star Trek to breaking convoluted continuity copyrights to embezzling over $100 million at J.J. Abrams' feet probably don't even realize that "Prime universe" is a term coined by Bad Robot to differentiate their Trek from the original. Every time they say it, they're using their words. Which makes me happy.

Some more false hope for fans of Star Trek: Enterprise...

I been getting leaks all day from people who support what am saying.... i been told the CBS announcement should be around Jan 30th.... it will be about finishing up Enterprise for the Romulan war... and an amazing NX Refit that will clearly show the transition towards the later Enterprise... technologies we recognize... and the newer series following will indeed be Axanar like with really amazing Romulan War birds.. including the Daedalus Class vessels and will 100% be based on Gene Roddenberry and will be one of the deepest funded and thought our series in ST history - with the desire to wipe the whole Abramsverse off the map into the trashcan of memory. CBS still is urging Paramount not to make ST3, to wait it out and follow their lead with the 2016 movie.
It's worth noting that I've previously seen him say the announcement will be at the start of the new financial year, which he'll no doubt switch back to in order to draw this out as long as possible.

The Daedalus-class ship "based 100% on Gene Roddenberry" made me laugh. I'm picturing a flying Roddenberry head with nacelles.:p

Damn, he's really going for it now, this is even better than the Doctor Who Missing Episode Omnirumor

Cut to Para Mobius having a brain aneurism, when the Daedalus ships finally appear with only one nacelle, make rapid pew-pew noises when they fire and are 10 times the size of the NX.

Oh and the Romulan ships can cloak, which of course, as everyone knows, is absolutely fine and dandy. ;)

You notice a subtle shift in his storyline, there - he's playing a shell game:

CBS still is urging Paramount not to make ST3, to wait it out and follow their lead

That's his weasel phrase - "still urging." IOW, he's dropping the whole notion that the Abrams movies are about to go into the tank - Contracts and Firings and Audits, Oh My! - and setting up to say that Paramount is going ahead with the next movie despite whatever "CBS plans" exist in his imagination.

Abrams sure has caused severe butthurt to some people.

What is this alleged STID fraud investigation supposed to be about?

Para Mobius claims (it's upthread somewhere) that ID cost $50something million to make, and that greedy J.J. and his cohorts pocketed the rest of the $200 million budget!

 I see
If JJ could make a movie of STiD's caliber for only $50M, Paramount would probably let him keep the $150M he supposedly pocketed, and get him to join up full time to pumpout blockbuster after blockbuster for them at $50M a pop.

I hear he's doing Star Wars for just $40M, since he is a big fan.

It seems some Star Trek Fans can't live with IDIC with whatever Trek Parmount/CBS is making...

Para Mobius is entertainment pure.

so what will he say when Star Trek 3 starts shooting and their is no news from CBS? what does he pin his hopes on then?

Then their is Trek Makes me Wonder on Trek Movie he seems to be trying to sell himself as Director or Writer of the next Star Trek Movie, then I went to go and Read his Script....wow...so many things he can't pull off...
