I made my opinion of this premise for a show clear in a thread with its creator here a while back. There's no there there. It's very fannish.

I have no idea what the truth is here, but it would be extremely unlikely that this is what it seems to be on the surface, at least as reported by Trekmovie.

Though I snickered at the author's "he is definitely working to try something different and bold", because I saw nothing different or bold in the material I read, just another remix of well-trod ideas.
