ST:TMP - Lost Footage from the Trench

I fear I may need to neck-pinch the security guard and venture out into the trench myself to retrieve the footage.

Unless we scrap the whole trench idea and use the Spock Walk instead.

Wait. What?

Gentlemen (or gentlewomen, as the case may be), this is a hobby project and the three of us can only work on the site in our spare time. And due to some unexpected major surgery and some other things, we've not been able to devote as much time to the site as needed. We're moving forward though.

Your patience is really appreciated.

Dave

Sorry alchemist / Dave, Im just getting a bit overly excited about all this. It's like the holy grail of ST deleted scenes for me :)

Still doesn't mean he can't escape criticism.

alchemist, this is for telling me what I already knew.
:angryrazz:

I have been waiting on this footage for decades, I can certainly wait a few more months. The fact that it still exists is dang exciting.

As those old Wendy's commercials from the 80's went -- "Where's the beef?"

I'm starting to think these guys from Curt's Media hacked their own site...out of boredom.

:rommie:

Kidding aside, I hope Curt and everyone running that site are doing ok.

FWIW, alchemist responded to a PM I sent him recently saying that the startrekhistory website was almost done.

No news on the Trench footage, sadly.

This thread has become as annoying as "are we there yet"s from the back seat...for 1000 miles.

Is there some reason that this thread is even left open? It is serving no purpose except for folks to come along every month or two, bump it to the top, and gripe at alchemist. alchemist has said he will let us know when the footage is ready. Why do we need to keep a thread alive for no other purpose than for people to pile on?

Because the more people that pile onto it, the more they might be able to see when it does become available?

After all, the "Lost Footage from the Trench" does look awesome.

Well, since it's been bumped anyway, I might as well drop a penny in the hat:

I was watching Matrix Revolutions a week ago and I was suddenly struck by how the machine technology in that movie reminded me of V'ger technology in TMP. Thinking about this, it suddenly hit me that the whole memory wall sequence probably would have been more feasible using modern CGI technology, which suddenly leads me to wonder...

If we HAD the original footage shot for the trench/memory wall sequence, do you think somebody could use CG editing to finish it off the way it was originally intended to look?
