Yeah, I was let down too.
Come looking and hoping for spy pics from a major set...and get a shitty, fuzzy photo from a failed thrity-year-old TV show most people didn't care much about in the first place.
Oh, now that's not true. BSG was absolutely HUGE when it came out. It was a major cultural event. I mean... there WERE only three TV networks at the time, and 1/3 of America was watching ANYTHING that was on during prime-time any given night.
It's really hard to relate to this, when you consider our 200+ channels and nothing to watch world today, with the Internet, etc, etc. But back then, it was all about "captive audiences."
And there were plenty of people who took this QUITE seriously. I remember being stunned when it was big news a few days after the cancellation of BSG that some guy killed himself over it. (Okay, he was unhinged, we all know that, but stil...)
The interest in BSG was far greater than in the overwhelming majority of TV shows. It was just unbearably expensive to make, and with the "mixed" quality, wasn't drawing numbers large enough to justify bankrupting the studio!
Which, when you look at it, is the same battle nuBSG has been fighting, too, albeit in different ways.
