Spooks Series 8

Spooks Code 9 was awful, the acting and writing turned me off in 20 minutes :wtf: really how did it get made ?
They were looking to duplicate the success of Torchwood and thought rubbish first series was the way to go?

^I didn't mind the first series of Torchwood either, but the Spooks spin off was supposed to be trying to copy the success of Torchwood... I was also trying to be funny, I guess trying is the operative word.

Torchwood S1 had some redeeming features Ghost Machine for one, Spooks: Code 9 had none, not even Miss Moffat could save this show.

Also there is a question of, why did whatever happen, only kill people over 30?

For god sakes what were they thinking, lets take a timeline of a successful show, and then set an end date for it (there was not way both Spooks could ignore the events of Code 9) and then make a really shitty show to justify that decision

I can't think of a single show especially one from a spinoff that I adore that was so so horrible, I felt a little insulted. Got to admit BBC try to out do it with that horrible bonekickers which I turned out very quickly too (as did rest of UK).

I must hate myself because I watched the entire run of both Spooks: Code 9 and Bonekickers.
While Code 9 did improve a little as it went on it never actually got good or compelling. Bonekickers was just shite all along. It's a shame because there was a glimmer of a good idea in both of them, but neither actually worked.

yes Bonekickers was awful, I think ill stick with Paradox but I fear that may joint the same list as Code 9 & Bonekickers

Demons was pretty shoddy as well.

I don't think Paradox deserves to be on the same list as those two, unless it gets a lot worse in the next 3 episodes. Although I did think the line about god was rather obnoxious.

And you can't really blame Demons on the BBC. The initial idea sounded promising but boy did they fuck it up.

not blaming the BBC for Demons, just saying it was awful.

"Last of the Van Helsings" was a good idea, somehow it turned into Demons, which wasnt a good idea.

I don't remember Demons and not bothered to watch Paradox because when UK TV tries to do a story like that, which is very weird it fails miserable unless you have Doctor Who/Torchwood in the title. UK TV does crime one offs or political thrillers stuff like BBC did about 2 year back called The Enemy within, I think it was called.

Paradox is not actually that bad, its not Life on Mars, but it could be better than it is.

American TV has probably ruined me to an extent but the ads for Paradox did nothing for me and neither did the casting.

Paradox isn't too bad, it just isn't quite as polished as it could be. It seems that it's ashamed of being sci-fi so tries to stay away from getting too deep in to it.
