*SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in SGU"

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

^ He acts like a trained soldier whose job it is to safeguard the lives of the crew.

Oh...is that what he though he was doing when he was hallucinating Wray taking over the ship again and shot her?

You see that's who he is...and if solidiers are supposed to act like lunatics then he's got it rock solid. But I don't go for that...noo- no can do...

So now he's supposed to be held responsible for things he did while under alien influence? Come on.

Lets be realistic. These people under the hallucination merely were exaggerated projections of themselves.

James is a selfish, needy bundle of insecurity.
Greer is a paranoid maniac.

He acted that way all the time.
He obviously has anger issues.
He obviously has self control issues.

Him shooting down Wray doesn't really fall far from that tree does it?

They say humans are the only creature alive that will ignore a warning sign of imminent doom. I think he's dangerous. He doesn't do alot of think. His anger is not in check...he's next a kin to a wild animal.

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

That's not quite accurate. Tearing your arm open with your bare hands because you imagine there's a snake inside is NOT by any stretch of the imagination, just an exaggerated projection. It's a serious mental problem. Just because Greer's personality gives more of a hint of what he would be like if 'exaggerated' doesn't mean he's that way all the time.

Like I said it's a warning sign.

All I can say to a possible return of the Replicators:

FFffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu............

Then if you were incharge of SGU your contempt for the potential action and drama would likely kill the series faster.

Come to grips with the fact that the series is dying and just like with ENT they have to do something to keep it a float and thumbing their nose at saving your entertainment and their jobs
is only going to amount to cancellation.

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

You mind explaining in what way bringing the Replicators onto SGU would save it? That would be like bringing the Borg onto Enterprise...

Well in ENTERPRISE it brought the ratings back up from a two episode decline in the 2 season. It was a good move that was badly executed by the writers. A ratinings ploy.

Likely they'll try to spread it out in SGU for the replicators or they'll be down played in some respect so as not to overly endanger this ill equipped and an unimaginative lot so it may work temporarily ut people will likely dislike the execution like with ENT.

But that's a writing issue.
The concept is a good idea....but the writing has been lack luster for a while so I say go ahead and get your ratings while you can it will keep the ship afloat that much longer.

(you know, as a business decision)

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

If they do happen to bring back the Replicators I hope that they go with the original "swarm" aspect of them, rather than the human-form crap.

Maybe not actually use the bugs themselves but make the Replicators some sort of space-born species that finds any raw metal material floating in space it can and uses it to replicate.

The Borg episode's rating weren't substantially higher than usual, and Enterprise's ratings continued to slide until its eventual cancellation anyway.

Your argument seems to be based on the assumption that fans like the Replicators and want to see them again, which I've seen no indication of. Therefore bringing them onto SGU will in no way save the show.

The evidence shows an increase in viewer interest on the Borg Episode. That is indicative that fans want action. I'd bet the Replicator shows got increased ratings as well. This isn't a foreign concept my friend. And familiar enemies and action make for a good ratings formula.

I wouldn't poll the Franchise Fanatics on what is popular...
It's all a mute point now.

I can't believe the series's gonna end with the Replicators!

It won't. The alleged "quote" in the thread title was entirely made up by ReadyAndWilling, who has notably ignored this thread despite being in the forum since everyone started questioning him for a link and we determined it was a falsified quote. When confronted about it, he accused me of trolling.

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

It would make for an amusing final scene.

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

Forget "Stormfront." I laughed my ass off at the end of "Zero Hour." It was just such a left-field cliffhanger, and I knew all the guys here would hate it so much and would spend all summer complaining about it. I think I might've been satisfied if that had been the last episode of the show.

Re: *SPOILERS* Brad Wright: "Possibility of replicators returning in S

I can see the finale now, they've resolved whatever the story of the episode is. We then see Eli walking down a corridor, chekcing things out om the kino remote padd thing. We then hear some clanking. Eli looks up, turns around and sees one Replicator bug. "What the-" Eli starts before noticing a swarm of other bugs following it. Cue Replicator theme. Then we see a humanoid figure walking among the bugs. The bugs clear to the side revealing it to be Dr. Rush, who then says "things just got a lot more complicated around here." Replicator theme continues as the Executive Producer credits appear.

Well, either that or Colonel Young find himself in a Nazi field hospital with a Sombreroid in a Nazi uniform.
