"Spock's Brain" Line-by-Line

KIRK: No, you won't. You'll learn to build houses, to keep warm, to work. We'll help you for a while. Humans have survived under worse conditions. It's a matter of evolution. You'll be fine.

We interrupt our regular programming to bring you the following public service announcement:

------------------------------------------------------------

As you know, Star Trek Line-by-Line threads are vital to our nation's prosperity and national security. The more people embrace these threads, the safer our nation becomes.

To date, the record for the most participants in a single line-by-line thread, save for the threads for the feature films, is sixteen (16) participants. As of Sunday, December 6, 2010 at 7:48 pm Eastern Standard Time, our current thread has a mere twelve (12) participants.

Given the potential historic significance of having Spock's Brain be the episode that pushes us over the top, I encourage you to now, before it is too late, contact your friends, family, neighbors, relatives, co-workers, and janitorial staff, and encourage them to participate in this thread.

Your country is counting on you!

-----------------------------------------------------------

We now return you to your regular programming.

MCCOY: All the ganglia, the nerves. There are a million of them. What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do?

Kirk: You could! A moment ago it was child's play

Captains Log, Supplemental. Our race against time to save Spock's life may prove futile. Doctor McCoy has lost the surgical knowledge he obtained from the teacher. He has been drawing on his own skills and surgical techniques in an attempt to continue the operation, but he is faltering and uncertain. In a desperate hope that he can draw on Spock's brain for assistance, I have instructed Doctor McCoy to give priority to connecting Spock's vocal chords.

We missed two lines. My fault. It's...

KIRK: Bones, you can't stop now.
MCCOY: I'm trying to thread a needle with a sledgehammer. What am I supposed to do? I can't remember. I don't remember.
KIRK: Bones?

And from where we are now, the next line is...

KIRK: Well?

We skipped:

MCCOY: All the ganglia, the nerves. There are a million of them. What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do?
Kirk: Bones, you can't stop now.

McCoy: Like trying ti thread a needle with a sledge hammer. What am I supposed to do? I can't remember. I don't remember.
