Those last two are such great shots. And the fact that he is half Spock/half Zach makes for an interesting combo.

You know I think it would be quite nice seeing Spock look exactly like that, say...after being stranded on an unknown planet with the rest of the landing party for days.

A small departure from the always clean, wrinkle free, well shaven Spock ;)
 
I'm trying to figure out whats real and what isnt in those pics. It looks like his real hair with fake sideburns...what do you think?

Poor guy probably has to shave three times a day. That is some facial hair he's got!

I believe the hair and sideburns are all real.
Hasn't he said many times how he used to wear hats and stuff in real life to hide the bowl cut and the saved eyebrows ? :lol:
 
So you don't think he ever wore a wig in the movie? I just assumed (yeah, yeah, i know, ass-u-me) he did the haircut to blend in better with the wig. i gotta go look at more pics!

Nope, no wig.

TrekMovie: You may just be a part, but in a way you are the face of this film because you recognizable in the makeup and the ears and the wig…

How did you wear the Spock haircut off the set?

Quinto: Begrudgingly. I made do. I was very rarely seen last year without my giant black glasses. My hair I could usually muss it up. I underestimated the impact of that haircut. It engendered a sense of alienation in me personally, which probably influenced the part.


You felt like an alien?

Quinto: I just felt like a nerd. I felt like I was 12 again. You look back at those pictures and you see the bowl cut. There's no question I was born to play the Spock role. I was sporting that look for a good four or five years.

Asked if he wore a wig on screen, he says no, which produced an "Oh" and gulp from the questioner.

"Yeah, that was my feeling, too. I was out on the streets of L.A. sanseyebrows and with a pretty unfortunate haircut for six months," he said

I agree it would be nice to see a slightly less "perfect" looking Spock.

Another little bit of trivia I remember reading ages ago and that that 2nd pic illustrates rather well is that they had to build up the bottom of Zach's ears as well as create the points because Leonard has detached earlobes whereas Zach's are attached, so they built up his lobes to match Leonard's - I thought that was an interesting little tidbit.

i like that the next episode is apparently titled 'Tabula Rasa.' this is Latin for 'blank slate.' i would like to think maybe sylar (gabriel?) would get a chance to be a person.

but i dunno how likely this is, sylar the monster being so popular.

and i really do hope that head-sylar is all in matt's head. i have been trying not to ponder this because it just doesn't make any sense. that's not how parkman's power has historically worked - he projects, not receives - and what is with the little tidbits of the other personality (not just powers) poking through if sylar's mind is actually elsewhere? who is it that thinks he's nathan, then? sometimes the writers give me headache.

i have been away for a while, it was awesome to come back and find this thread on the 1st page, full of great new pics. you ladies rock!

Looking forward to finally watching the episode sometime tomorrow, as to me Zach is Sylar.

Disappears before da bunny ties me up and puts some makeup on me.

He IS sooo good looking. I got to watch Heroes last night since House wasnt on (i no longer own a vcr so i cannot tape it). I watched just for ZQ. Well worth it!

^Got them from some one on my LJ flist, who I believe got them from ontd_startrek, but by the watermark they clearly originally come from zachquinto.net so you might want to check that site out.
