Wes Bentley, perhaps?

He looks the part, but I've never seen his in anything.

Neither have I.

I did a search of actor facial close-ups of approximately the correct age and he seemed like a reasonable match. From what I've read, he seems like a very capable actor.

I really don't get the love for Quinto. He was really mediocre, definitely weakest of the reboot main trio. Whilst I think recasting Spock was a bad idea to begin with, they can easily do better than Quinto.

Totally disagree with you. I love Quinto's Spock.

I always confused Wes Bentley with Milo Ventimiglia of Heroes fame

Wouldn't it be funny if Milo Ventimiglia was the next Spock?

You know, as far as looks alone, that isn't a half bad idea if they just HAVE to recast him. Not sure if he could pull off the Vulcan demeanor with the criteria they're looking for but he can sure do the eyebrow lift. Granted the only thing I've seen him in is Heroes.

Me neighter, not so much because of Quinto but because of how they chose to make him a hothead. No amount of "CHECK THE CIRCUIT" or "THE WOMEN!" references to early Spock in TOS will change the fact that most people expect Spock to keep his cool most of the time. Just didn't buy him as Vulcan.

I'm sure you are the exact same person you were ten years ago...

I didn't buy any of the characters in the Abrams Star Trek reboot movies, but I still enjoyed them as scifi movies. It'll probably be the same when I see the recast versions of Pike, Number 1 and Spock in Discovery. I'm to much of a die hard TOS fan to change my ways. :p

Whatever happens in season two, I just hope it's better than season one which for the most part I consider a failure. We shall see. New season, new faces, maybe something really cool will happen.

That is my hope as well.

I'm pretty sure we're only going to see Spock as a child and that this is what Kurtzman was referring to, but there's a chance I could be wrong.

Based on what they say in the interview, it sounds pretty clear that they're looking for more than just a kid in a flashback. Besides, you were telling us not too long ago, based on your reading of interviews, that they will never bring Spock to Discovery. So, I'll go with the chance you're wrong being pretty high.

Not to mention that is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Kelvin verse Spock had some very very difficult experiences he went through as a young Vulcan that the Prime Spock never went through. As Spock would put it, expecting them to behave the same way at this point would not be logical.

Pretty sure it's Lt. Connolly that beamed together with Pike to Discovery.

The scene above is from from first episode of season 2 (see clapperboard). Spock is definitely not on-board Enterprise at that time.
Forgot about him.
You're probably right.
:techman:

Well, Abrams hit it out of the park with Quinto and Kurtzman was involved in that movie. So the guy's got some successful history.

Oh, and Pike's collar looks great in that elevator pic. :)
Looking at that collar style on the Gold shirt, it almost looks like They were attempting to incorporate the Delta shape there as well.
It certainly stands out on a lighter color.

the collar is exactly the same as the Discovery collar. It just stands out more because it's a different colour.

He's one of the biggest leads in This Is Us, which is a show so very much bigger than Star Trek right now so I really doubt he'd play a big role in Discovery?

I myself really don't feel it'd be appropriate for Zachary Quinto to play Spock, since like he's playing a totally different version of Mr Spock in another universe. Zachary's Spock is now a very different person right now, and you know Discovery's Spock won't have met his future self, he didn't see his home world destroyed and he didn't experience his mother's death, and just so many things are different, so I believe it'd be unfair to have Zachary play two different versions of Spock at the same time, I'd much rather see another actor doing a new interpretation of his character for this television show.

Yep. But it is incredible how they took something that looked bland and made it look a Hell of a lot better by simple introduction of the TOS color scheme and rank stripes.

Yes it is, I wasn't indicating anything different.
I was merely pointing out that on the lighter color tops, the fact that it somewhat resembles a Delta Shape is much more prominent.

Oh yeah, if DigificWriter is convinced that we won't see adult Spock, that is pretty much adult Spock confirmed. The guy has basically a magical ability to predict everything wrong.
