Usecthe? Is that another alien race in DSC? ;)
And I was referring to the Klingon conflict which didn't happen in TOS and the Mirror Universe that happened much later in the show's history!

Nothing in the canon says a conflict never happened in this time period.

And the mirror universe didn’t suddenly exist when Kirk crossed over, it was always there.

We never see anyone use the toilet, but they probably do.

Specialized medical transporters remove digested fecal matter and urine so there is no need for toilets. Just imagine the relief of the millions with IBS!

Well the first time we meet the Klingons in Errand of Mercy there is not much to go on, only that both forces are antagonistic to each other and we discover there have been battles between both empires later on but not a full blown conflict! Some people believe the Mirror Universe only came into existence due to Kirk's crossing over, but I like to think it was always there only Mirror, Mirror was the first time we the viewer ever saw it!

I've often thought that the ideal would be all bodily systems carefully managed by nanotech. No more worries about thirst, starvation, constant fluctuation of blood sugar level, etc, etc. Even injuries repaired at super-speed.

In a scenario like that, eating and drinking would be for pleasure, not necessity.

Unless replicated food has only the actual nutrients wrapped in bulk loose matter. You get what you need, it gets past your stomach, then dissolves to gas entirely.

I for one would like to see Spock with Leonard Nimoy's face edited onto it! Similar to how Peter Cushing's Grand Moff Tarkin appeared in Rogue One last year!

There's a certain 'cool factor' with that, as with the commercials that used existing footage of John Wayne, Fred Astaire, Marilyn Monroe, etc, and added the footage to new productions. But....at the same time it is knowing that the people are no longer alive and that, in some ways, it is like reducing their creativity, if not their very lives, to the point of being just another commodity. It's a real push-pull situation.

Wait. There are people who actually believe that? I've never heard that theory in all my decades in fandom. The original episode makes it clear that Kirk and Co. have traded places with their counterparts in a parallel reality, not that they created an alternate timeline or whatever. Of course the MU existed before Kirk got accidentally transported there. I never thought there was any question about that.

Weird.

Just because they were never mentioned, doesn’t mean they never happened.

Only the Senior Officers had toilets.
That's why so many folks were willing to volunteer to be a "Redshirt"...
Going on an away mission guaranteed that one could always find a tree/bush to relieve oneself!

Pet peeve: the verb is "cast," not "casted."

He was cast in 1964, not "casted."

Nothing personal. I keep seeing "casted" instead of "cast" everywhere these days and it's like nails scraping on a chalkboard. It's an insidious new usage that seems to be spreading like a virus . . . . :)

See also people confusing role with "roll." Nimoy was perfect in the role of Spock, not "roll."

Drives me nuts, I tell you.

I had the reverse happened a few days ago, I said a word that did end in 'ed' for the past tense, but I thought it didn't and someone corrected me.

I can't remember what the word was now.

He did 'roll' with the punches though.
:p

Not to be that guy, but "casted" is perfectly acceptable when talking about something that happened in the past, usually some time ago. People just don't use it that often anymore, especially in America. But plenty of British film and theatre types use it. It's probably really old school English.

I find the whole idea of recasting Spock a bad idea. Pike is fine since he’s lesser known, but Prime Spock should only be Nimoy.
Just say he’s off fishing during this.

They recast him for the JJ Abrams movies, even though he's meant to look exactly the same as he does in The Cage.

That was supposed to be a reboot so that’s a slightly different scenario. Space Show Discovery is supposed to be in the Prime universe.
