Spock and the dangers of time travel

Too bad that TOS didn't have the budget for something like that.

They could have just used any belt like McCoy used on Spock in Spock's Brain with some blinking light(s) to show it was activated. I always thought the life support belt shown and used in TAS was so brilliant and cool (science and reality aside). With animation, of course, they could more easily show a glow around the user.

On that Memory Alpha page I listed earlier, I thought this was interesting -

"The Star Trek: Department of Temporal Investigations novel Forgotten History explains that the usage of life support belts was discontinued due to the likelihood that any failures would result in the users' immediate deaths. Environmental suits, on the other hand, gave the wearer a window of opportunity to escape back into a safer environment."

Well, as long as don't try to hold your breath you'll have a few seconds of consciousness in the vacuum of space to get back to your ship.

^This post reminded me of what happened to Schwarzenneger when he was exposed to the vacuum of space in 'Total Recall'. :eek:
