Spiner's Blue Skies

Apparently he recorded a full version for the Nemesis soundtrack but it was cut.

Has anyone heard it or know where I could get a copy? It's "our" song and we're trying to get it for our wedding.

This is surprisingly hard. It was, as you say and according to some YouTube clips I found, recorded in full for Nemesis and intended to be included on the audio CD, but pulled for unknown reasons. It is included in neither Old Yellow Eyes is Back nor Dreamland, although some references indicate that Spiner plans to include "Blue Skies" in a successor to Old Yellow Eyes if Dreamland does well enough.

My best suggestions are:

  • Try to find an alternate performer you feel is close enough to Spiner's performance
  • Try to contact Spiner through his website. Perhaps if you explain your situation to the administrator there, he'll be able to help you out or possibly speak with Mr. Spiner or his agent. This is one of those feel-good things that just might work in your favor.
Good luck! And ... congratulations on the wedding!

Please let me know how it works out. I'd love to have a copy of that song performed by him. He's a pretty good singer!

I contacted Brent through his Facebook page and there is no copy available.

Cool stories! I, too, wouldn't mind to own a full, unedited copy of Brent's "Blue Skies." The song was one of the highlights of NEMESIS and it's a real shame the whole song didn't appear on the soundtrack CD of the movie...it might have sold a few more copies.

Yeah, Brent recently canceled his personal Facebook account with
Friends and now has only a Fan page run by someone else. Which is cool...I can understand why some celebs prefer not to have a regular Facebook page because of the time and trouble that's sometimes involved.

Especially now that the government's doing what they can to be able to monitor Facebook and twitter and other sites like those.

I've looked several times over the years looking for a full version of Brent Spiner's "Blue Skies," but as far as I'm aware there are neither official nor leaked versions available. I'd love to find it though!

I like Spiner's version better than the originals. Call me a Trekker nerd, but I think Data crooning the tune is the apex of the song's evolution.
