Spidey OUT of MCU

they didn't just add those characters, he's know about this for a long time at least a year. and since they are for his company he will go full on into producing them. Why would he produce billiob dollar films for SOEMMEONE ELSE
But if he was already as overwhelmed as you keep saying he is they wouldn't have added all of those new projects for him to oversee.

They shouldn't have walked away from the negotiating table after Sony rejected their demand for a 50/50 profit share.

What good would it have done to stay?

That table, at that point in time, on that issue, was possibly the only time they would be dealing with Sony from a position of weakness.

Walk away and fight a hundred other battles you can win rather than the one you can't, Disney can punish Sony from here on in thousands of ways by simply squashing them time and again until Spidey just isn't worth the hassle and Sony come back with an offer a year or two down the line.

Did you ever have that lab partner in high school chem who played table football whilst you did all the work?

Sony should have been grateful and taken the "B". Trying to vilify Disney here is pretty ridiculous.
Oh no, Dinsey didn't ask for ten times what they were getting before plus asking for co-financing on Spider-man films which would have allowed them control of the character. But no, they are not villains at all

Sony proved they can compete again with Venom. They'll do fine with their own Spider-Man movie universe, and now they'll reap merch sales too.

So, unless I missed something...... how come every is acting like this is set in stone? Nothing has actually been finalized yet, right??
Imma do that weird thing and just wait and see what happens.

You mean they could still do a deal ?

That we're all jumping the gun ?

You'll get nowhere on the internet with an attitude like that...

I know, I know.... I'm weird that way. But I figured, since it seems to work in real life..... ;)

Why would you say that?

Because if Disney wanted to compromise, they already would have, and with Sony unfairly and wrongly being blamed for this in the public sphere, they (Disney) have no incentive to come back to the table.

Playing this kind of game is dangerous and stupid on Disney's part because of Sony is able to retain most of the cast and creatives behind Homecoming and Far From Home who aren't directly affiliated with or employed by Marvel Studios and are in fact able to make a Feige-less Spider-Man 3 successful, Disney are the ones who will get the brunt of the blowback.

They may have a compromise and are just waiting to announce it at D23 which is happening now. It benefits both companies to work together.

All of the Marvel Studios announcements happened yesterday, and a new deal has to be announced by both Sony and Disney jointly.

There is no new deal and it's unlikely that there is going to be one.

Because they have more to lose from the partnership falling apart than Sony does due to how integral to the future of the MCU Spider-Man has been made on their end.

Sony can move forward from where Far From Home leaves off without needing to rely on overt connections to the MCU, but Marvel Studios now has to completely abandon any future plans that they may have been looking at involving Spidey that weren't related to his solo adventures and basically write him out of their universe.

That was the Disney+ panel, so it was focused on shows airing exclusively on Disney+. There’s another today focusing on Disney Studios films, Star Wars and Marvel are being included as it is focusing on film projects. If a deal had been reached, it would be announced there. There’s another secret Disney project panel, but no one knows what it’s about.

Spider-Man is a film project, but it is not a Disney film project.

People can keep holding out hope it they want, but it's a very feeble venture at this point, IMO.
