Spider-Man rescues autistic boy in Thailand

I think it's a good story too.

What amazes me is how iconic superheroes become even for children. Sure they can create new superheroes, but for some reason the look of characters such as Spidey, Supes, and Wonder woman are just so iconic that even a three year old is discriminating and would prefer them to newer unfamiliar heroes.

Allow me top use this opportunity to rant, but it seems like the people working with these characters these days are forgetting their iconic status. I mean this is Spidey from the recent cartoon:

I can't imagine this scrawney thing, all proportioned wrong, saving anyone. As a child I never wouldve been attached to it. I had Spider-man sneakers as a kid, and this was the kind I'm talking about:

Of course it wasn't exactly that pic, but that's Spidey that I remember

This trend of thinning out and exagerrating is happening to all kinds of iconic characters, even Transformers
This is the iconic Prime that was what I grew up with:

Not this:

notice how it actually mirrors the problems the new scawney Spider-man has.

i'm really worried about this trend ruining everything that makes these characters so iconic

^My understanding is that the kid reads comic books. Spider-Man isn't depicted the way you describe in the comics.

Peter has what you might describe as a gymnast's body, he is about agility not raw strength, although he does have superhuman strength.

yeah but I'm talking about Iconic Imagery, and Spider-man hhas always had a look, and these new animators are forgetting what makes that look iconic. even now, loking at the new Prime, I'm WTF is THAT?

That's a weird rendition of Prime, but the animation for Spider-Man is flawless; slim and athletic, and when you see how he moves it's remarkable.

I understand that animation is smooth. To me it doesn't matter. I hate these long scrawney legs with large calves, and the overcharacatured anture of it. I miss the old Spidey

^If you miss old Spidey, pick up Amazing Spider-Man three times a month from your local comic book store.
