Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Yeah the novelization was different to protect the spoilers concerning Jean's fate I think. Again though, it's been a while since they did an adaptation of one of their films. They've had tie-ins and what not.

Trekker mentioned that in his post...I think that was one of the last adaptations they did I think. I'll have to go take a look, but it has been a while.

Has Marvel done comic book adaptations of any of their movies? It seems like a no brainer to me, but I honestly can't remember if I've seen any. Or for DC movies for that matter.

There's a comic book adaptation of Iron Man.

I'm skeptical about this movie, but keeping an open mind. By the trailers, it looks like they're going with a new approach, that Parker was "meant" to be Spider-Man through someone else's design. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like. Well, even if it fails, at least we'll probably be getting mechanical webshooters from now on in the movies....

Actually if you listen to the X2 commentary, singer said that the end was formulated late in the game, particularly the decision to "kill' Jean grey. Indeed, he came up with that as something he would really do the day they were filming the museum scene that happens early in the film, and took the actress aside and told her in private. this gave her something more to play, particularly in that scene where she has premonitions of something terrible happening.

It'd be a positive to me. The Rami movies also had influences from Ultimate Spider-Man...but to me Webb is using it better. Of course this is just my opinion of the trailers so far. As I've said...my opinion could change after seeing the film...but I doubt it :)

Ultimate! Ultimate! Ultimate! This is the reason the first Fantastic Four, Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movies are great.

The Lizard! The CGI cartoon did a great episode and design for The Lizard.

Using Alex Ross's idea (combo of the live action tv series, black symbiote and Ben Reilly's second costume. this is the one they should have used. We got to see BR's first costume during the cage fight. The second costume we see was a let down.) plus the Ben Reilly second costume :drool:for the costume!

:techman::drool:

Humor! The CGI cartoon and the Ultimate Spiderman video game had this.

I wanna see things we never got to see in the cgi cartoon because the suits wouldn't give them the budget.

I personally think that, based on what we've seen, the new film owes a much greater debt in terms of source material to the old 1994 Spider-Man cartoon, particularly the second season thereof, which was subtitled the 'Neogenic Nightmare', although I do see traces of Ultimate Spider-Man in the material we've seen thus far as well.

I want to see an Ultimate Spider-Man movie where Wolverine and Spider-Man switch bodies and Wolverine tries to tap MJ.

that would be HYSTERICAL.

ESPECIALLY when Pete goes off on his foul-mouthed rant afterward and Colossus turns to Nightcrawler and says "I'm a ****ing ****? I was just standing here!"

i'd love to see a film version of Spidey and His Amazing Friends though...
