Spider-Man: Homecoming' anticipation thread

I've been wondering about this, and I am glad this will be happening. I wonder who it will be?

Tom Holland screen-tested with RDJ and Chris Evans. Actually, this would be the perfect place to introduce Daredevil to the cinema audience, as they are both NYC "street-level" heroes.

Though I'd love it, I honestly don't think Daredevil (or any of the Netflix shows) will ever be seen in a MCU movie. As Spider-Man will obviously be a family movie, and then Little Johnny will be like "mommy, I liked that devil man, can I watch his show pwease?" So like all good parents she'll stick him in front of the TV to shut him up, until one day she walks in on him watching this

Parents will love that! Or maybe even Jessica Jones banging Luke Cage.

As for the name of the movie, it was rumoured a while ago it could be called "Spider-Man: The Next Avenger" (obviously to get that MCU/Avengers tie in right in there, for the $$ potential) Was that just a stupid rumour?

I agree, I don't think we'll ever see a meaningful crossover between the Netflix and greater MCU characters. I think they keep promising the chance to keep people talking about it being in the same 'universe' and to keep people's interest.

I had the same thought. Spidey and Daredevil or Punisher are natural team-ups and a great way to bring the Netflixverse more into the MCU... and maybe a part of Infinity War.

Does it show any boobies Johnny? No? OK go ahead and watch it.

I was going to use the Doctor Who/Torchwood analogy - they wouldn't use The Doctor in TW because then younger kids would want to tune in and see a show that was unsuitable for them. But then I remembered that they did include Jack, Ianto and Gwen from TW in an episode of the parent show. Not that it's a legal precedent or anything but Marvel might do something similar.

I could see a crossover between one of the Defenders and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or a future network/cable series long before a crossover between a Defender and one of the movies. AoS is a lot more directly tied into the movies than any of the Defenders series and it hasn't even crossed over into the movies yet.

Logo and movie title revealed at cinema con

Wow, that's a... cartoony font/logo. It's certainly different. A bold move.

The "Ultimate" title pretty well belongs to Miles Morales now, no? And "Spectacular" just sounds like "Amazing" redux. This title works.
