Spider-Man 4 Villian Revealed (Spoilers)

So, a re-tread of Spider-Man 3, but with one fewer villain? The Batman Returns method (villains team up to take down the hero) has been run into the ground ... and it generally sucks, in the first place.

I believe Mr. Light was suggesting that Black Cat and Spiderman would team up to take down Lizard, not Lizard and Black Cat (any movie Lizard would probably be feral and not particularly into team-ups anyway). Reading it now, though, it doesn't make much sense; what would Black Cat have to gain taking out the Lizard? Spiderman, sure, out of respect to Dr. Connors, to save any innocents the Lizard might harm, and of course to-rescue-Mary-Jane-whom-the-Lizard-kidnapped-because-he-smelled-his-emeny-Spiderman-on-her. The villain should be somebody who can have a motive that Black Cat could find abhorrent or counter to her own interests, and wish to eventually foil.

If Black Cat is obsessed with Spidey and stalking him she would gladly join forces with Spidey against the Lizard.

Black Cat wasn't top of my list of villains to see in the next film, but it's something different. A female villain hasn't been done yet and if Lizard is going to be part of the story that's another scientist gone bad.

I just hope they use Black Cat as an actual villain and not as a wedge between Pete and MJ. They should be past all that angst now. I don't mind if Black Cat has feelings for Spidey just don't have him reciprocate in any way.

First The Lizard and now Black Cat???

...What about Mysterio???

Spider-Man 5 I guess?

I'm against the black cat idea since I don't want it to turn into another Batman Returns and they already did a love triangle in the third movie.

Didn't the black cat in the animated fox series have almost the same powers as Captain america.

How about a love triangle between The Lizard, Peter and ManWolf? :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Would you be for that?

The main villain---who isn't the Lizard hasn't been announced yet---so this is not the villain/casting announcement most folks are waiting on..........

It's pretty clear that the Lizard will not play a major role in the movie---more likely still kept in reserve for a later movie----------UNLESS the main villain is Kraven who will hunt the Lizard, with Parker trying to save Connors and thus facing off against Kraven to save his friend.

I was sort of hoping they would get around to the Lizard. He's one of the villains I remember best from my childhood, and Dylan Baker is a pretty nice guy and an underrated actor. Oh well.

The 'bad luck' power might work in a high-concept Jim Carrey movie like Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty but it's hardly going to make for a spectacular action movie. They could always give her feline abilities but here's hoping they do a better job than was done with Catwoman (shouldn't be hard, admittedly).

Dylan Baker IS going to be in it and they may even foreshadow the Lizard transformation, but it's unlikely he'll be the main villain because a talking, plotting Lizard-man would be a very chancey thing to try.

Much more doable is an out-of-control Lizard who Spidey is trying to save from Kraven or the authorities.

But each movie needs a villain that actually acts scenes during the movie---not just a creature growling and snarling.

Also if they use Lizard as the main villain---that's what like 4 villains in a row who are not actually bad---just transformed against their will. Norman, Harry, Octavius, Marko....
That angle is played out. A simple, 'not nice guy' as the adversary is in order at this point. Kraven fits that bill.

I always thought Mysterio was a main Spidey villain...did that change???

^^^
No, it hasn't changed. Mysterio is still a top 10 Spidey foe, its just unlikely he'll be the baddie this time around.

One point: Norman chose to experiment on himself, though you might say that he was afterwards hostage to his own insanity. But, yes, it's almost a theme of the films now to have a villain such as this, and not without reason: Spiderman, too, was transformed against his will, and the way characters like movie-Doc Ock are set up, they mirror Peter Parker's own journey: how will you react when suddenly empowered? I think Lizard is a very appropriate villain.

Prediction: If Black Cat appears in Spider-Man 4, there will be no Catwoman in the next Batman film.

That`s a solid prediction. However at the rate Batman 3 is going into production, Spiderman 4 will be out on DVD and forgotten by then.

Black Cat has been in the works for the last couple of movies...there was apperent discussion about using Felica in Spider-Man 2 I believe but they dropped that. I could see a movie as was suggested above where the first half focuses on Felcia becoming or already established as Black Cat then Doc Connors becoming Lizard in the second half and this starts Felica's redemption as she teams with Peter to take him down. I'd love if they got Eliza Dushku to play Felica, I think they were thinking of her when they were thinking of her in 2.
