Spoilers Spider-man 3(take 2) Anticipation thread

Bad day for Sony. It's not just the trailer but photos of Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx and Willem Dafoe have also leaked.
I believe I mentioned Willem Dafoe was rumored but I didn't know for sure if it's for real or not unlike Molina and Foxx so I would consider that something of a spoiler.

With leaked trailers and photos can we all be careful for those who want to avoid spoilers.

Crazy that everything leaks at the same time. It's like someone had a leaked package in the waiting to drop all at once.

I'm not even convinced it wasn't orchestrated by the studio. Marketing has no rules.

Yeah, I've seen some talk that this whole thing has been a marketing ploy.

I kind of hope that is the case, otherwise that means someone was really stupid when they leaked the video.

It's brilliant in a way. It certainly helps drum up anticipation for the trailer amongst fans while entertainment news outlets will cover the "leak." The whole thing goes viral on social media and then everyone is primed for the trailer's release.

I watched it on a twitter link that was someone recording it on a phone screen so it wasn't best quality... but it looked like some of the CG in the trailer wasn't finished in one or two parts.

I haven't watched the leaked trailer but that's what I've read. But who's to say that's the most up to date version? Especially if it is marketing ploy?

So I bit the bullet and watched it. My big take away from it is just how much CGI there is, as evidenced by the unfinished quality of the scenes.

I am reading online that the official, full trailer will be released today at some online con? Sites like Screen Rant had reported it yesterday which would be before this leak.

Actually I would be fine with no trailer at all. I'm already hyped enough.

Also not just that’s it is a video of someone holding a phone, they are not holding the phone correctly. If they turned the phone to the side the trailer would take up the whole screen. Instead it’s small in the middle of the screen! LOL Not worth seeking it out.

It occurred to me this was a stunt by Disney but doubt it given most effects are unfinished. Under the watermarked name I believe it says something like color correction division. This version of the trailer could be weeks old. My guess is someone sent this to a younger relative and did not think they could record it with a separate device.

the original TikTok upload was DMCA'd by someone, either sony or disney.

They've also been taking down youtube videos.

Current rumor from apparently reliable guy says the finished trailer will be released around 9pm eastern tonight.

While I realize the film will not be about Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man specifically and the plot around his parents won't be dealt with, I hope Garfield is able to get closure in the film, much as Brandon Routh did as Superman in the CW's Crisis. I really liked Garfield's Spider-Man and I enjoyed his movies, as messy and hacked to death (the first) or overstuffed (the second) as they are.

Yup, I agree (although I didn't care about the plotline regarding his parents). I really enjoyed his performance and his chemistry with Emma Stone, but I was less keen with the stories he had to work with.

Yeah, that person is fired and blacklisted from the industry. So stupid.

Bit stupid to allow someone to record the trailer when your name is plastered across it.

I don't see why we would think this trailer was recorded with their permission. It was also at least 2 generations removed, the original device, a phone recording that, and another phone recording the video that we all saw. Clearly if they get into trouble it would be for leaving their device unsecured, not for actually leaking the video.

The only people confirmed to be in it are the core cast (Peter, MJ, Ned, May) and the supporting cast (Flash, Betty, some of their teachers) as well as Doctor Strange, Jamie Foxx's Electro, and Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus. Everyone else is still firmly in the rumor/speculation section.
OK, thanks. There have been so many rumors going around, it's hard to keep track of what was actually an official announcent.

It's pretty stupid to leak something like this, there's no way the company isn't going to find out it was you, and I just don't see where anything the leaker get out of it is worth losing what is probably a pretty good job. The only I see it being worth it if you sell it, or monetize in some other way that gets you enough money to not need a job anymore.

My guess is someone sent this to a younger relative and did not think they could record it with a separate device.
In a situation like that, would Sony and/or Marvel be able to go after the relative or just the the person tha works directly for them.?
