Spoilers Speculations On Upcoming Episodes

I really don‘t know, but to me the idea that Tawny would cast herself as someone related to Sisko seems off. I could be wrong, but somehow I don‘t think she would do that. I think it‘s more likely that she will be a brand new character, like a Kasqian archivist, librarian or teacher that will help SAM find out about Sisko‘s story. Heck, I wouldn‘t be surprised if she‘s playing SAM‘s photonic mother/programmer.

One review says it's "a familiar character".
I appreciate we're riffing on this but I'd love us to get to the right prediction.

I think the “familiar character” that‘s been referred to is probably Benjamin Sisko. Avery Brooks won‘t be on the show, but I‘m sure they will show archive footage or something like that. And we already know they will play an audio clip of him repurposed from an audio book.

Interviewer: “Speaking on that episode 5, uh… this is going to be held after episode 5. Did we get… is that new dialogue from Avery Brooks at the end of that episode? Or is that taken from Deep Space Nine?”

Kurtzman: “It is.”

Landau added: “It’s actually neither. It’s, with Avery’s very generous permission, we were able to use a piece of spoken-word poetry that he recorded himself.”

I wonder if the previews just had it as dialogue, but the aired version will have Brooks

One of these?

Where does it say it's from an audio book?

Yes, that’s where I got that from. Here’s a link to the original article and video interview. I heard “piece of spoken-word poetry that he recorded himself” and my mind confabulated that into “from an audio book”, because that what I assumed. Sorry, didn’t mean to spread any misinformation. :)

Guys, I think I just accidentally found another piece of the puzzle. In this video — yet again conducted by MovieWeb — Kerrice Brooks gets asked by the interviewer: “What's the moment where SAM stops being a program trying to fit in and starts believing she belongs?” and she replies (and I will put it as a spoiler, because if true that’s genuinely new information): “I think it happens in 1x05, without spoiling anything. I think that's when it happens, right at the end, as Jake gives her permission to do that. Damn, if that’s true that’s a pretty big spoiler. Did no-one check these interviews before they were released?!

I’ve also looked back to what some early reviewers said about episode five, and one interesting thing comes from Jessie Gender, who says: “She is sent by a group of photonics, holographic sentient beings, who want to reach back out to the Federation.” This makes it sound like there once was some sort of relationship between the Federation and Kasq. I wonder what happened, and why they feel the need to send an emissary to learn about humans.

I can't wait for episode 5 so the confusing and contradictory prerelease information will be behind us and we can cure our headache
I get that. What you could do in the meantime is speculate about episode six. ;)

Seriously, though, all the reviewers seem to be curiously mum on the last of the six preview episodes. I wonder if there’s some extra embargo just for that one. The TrekCulture folks just hint that it will be action-packed, with bigger stakes and continues the show’s overarching story. So my guess would be that Caleb is finally going to try and find his mother in this one. Who knows, maybe Ake and a few of the cadets will somehow follow him? I think there’s a possibility that he finds her, but that she’s somehow not what he thought she was. Maybe she is still working with Nus Braka after all. I also have a feeling this will end on a sort of cliffhanger that gets resolved in the final episode of the season.

Ooh you deviant you.

Truthfully though I love this sense of truly not knowing what's coming next and there being limitless possibilities. We only really had that with Discovery seasons 3-5 and now Academy where everything is open season and Discovery showed us the characters going on journeys and not all staying together just because with Bryce on the Curie-J, Nilson on the Voyager-J, Ambassador Saru and Professor Tilly. Not to mention the centuries of untold stories that are just begging for ravenous headcanon.

Nice! Maybe Sisko brought Jake and the other kid (Tawny?) into the temple as well to save their lives from something and be with them.
