I agree, it would be in keeping with the more complex nature of the show to not have a single villain, but multiple people acting on their own feelings of what is best. And Picard's race against time, is about the onset of Irumodic Syndrome.Picard's brain condition is the true adversary for this series. Very much the same reason that Jazz was the true adversary in season 2 of Cloak and Dagger.
Since Oh is concerned about Ratso blowing their cover
How the hell does anyone think that's Riker? He's obviously not Jonathan Frakes.I think the old bearded guy on his back that we see in the preview clips (some are scared it’s Riker) is actually Maddox.

It need not mean the end of Picard, as there are ways it can be dealt with, should they want to remove the threat by the end of the season or show.
- Borg implants to replace the damaged lobe of the brain;
- A gift from Q if Picard is deemed to be important for something in the future;
- Voyager's EMH or Beverley could have a new treatment;
Nah Narek doesnt strike me as the villain and never did, I want to see exactly what happened so long ago before I decide about whether they were right or not.I think whoever the Zhat Vash's master is the true Big Bad of the series, we don't know who that is at the moment, its not Narek like the first couple of posts suggested, I could see him switching sides when the true plan is revealed.
Even if the villain thinks he or she is right, doesn't make them sympathetic persay, it depends on what they are doing. If the Zhat Vash's hatred of androids is so all-consuming, that they caused the attack on Mars, killed over 90,000 people and let millions of Romulans die in the process, that is hard to make sympathetic.

Its odd, attacking Mars with all its synths is fair enough but why screw up the fleet as well.
Did something go wrong or was it simply the most effective time to strike, why not wait until the rescue fleet has picked everyone up, Mars would still be running with a skeleton crew so nothing is lost by waiting.
There is a lot more to it I think, we just have to wait for the episodes.
It would have been better if they had released it all at once, then again that would not guarantee a lengthy subscription to CBS All Access though.
Is there really gonna be a villain?
Going back to my earlier post where I said Picard was the main antagonist.
As an example I’m gonna use the current political issue with illegal immigration. People don’t want illegals coming into their country. Yet on the other side, the illegals have their reasons for wanting to immigrate. There’s a valid reason for both sides, regardless of what you personally feel. The writers have said that Starfleet isn’t evil, but it has reasons for why it’s done what it has. And perhaps the Romulans, despite their perceived evilness, have reasons for why they are doing what they are. Neither is really in the wrong, despite the actions they have taken.

Worse. He’s one of “The Thing” like aliens from the episode, AquielNumber One is a changeling.
I believe there is actually a book where he does do this. It's Immortal Coil. (Not canon unfortunately)Noticed that picture and a few others give Ruk's skin a golden Data like hue. I wonder if Dr. Soong took a trip to Exo III at one point.![]()
A Borg/Romulan cabal?
The Borg want their Collective back. The Romulans want their empire back.
