Looks like the Shenzhou to meThat MSD doesnt look like either th Discovery nor the Shenzhou.....
While I agree, I'm not expecting to see any assets shared between Paramount and CBS on this one. We may get a namedrop though.I love the USS Kelvin design and would love to see another one of those.
The MSD depicts a tiny ship. It would be interesting to see the Shenzhou portrayed as such...
Eaves supposedly had the test pilots thing going from the very start - he mentioned a USS Glenn of Mercury class that we're yet to see. Also, if it's going to be thematic that way (pilot-named ship of spacecraft-named class and vice versa), we might assume the Europa will be of a thematically named class that's neither Walker (obviously!) nor Mercury (unless the theme in fact is heavenly bodies and it all goes down in flames).
As for reimagining Kirk's ship, Trek has reimagined, rebooted and remorsed half a dozen times. It has never had the guts to reimagine TOS.
And really, there isn't a relevant viewership segment that would oppose the TOS ship. This is a Star Trek spinoff. People incapable of stomaching the profound silliness that is Star Trek won't feature in the demographics anyway.

Unless there's another ship with a ventral mounted bridge on Deck 7, three more decks below that (two in the pod, one in the nacelle), and thin underslung nacelles, then it's the Shenzhou. That MSD doesnt look like either the Discovery nor the Shenzhou.....

Well I dont mind a bit of an update.. but IMO I truly hope they steer clear of the Obscenity IMO called USS Enterprise from the JJverse.. it still hurts me to look at it for too long.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701, of course. I'm predicting it'll show up in season two, like Superman did in Supergirl. And it won't look like it used to.

I don't know about tiny. That's the same number of decks as the Miranda, for example, and a couple more than the NX.
