That would be a very typical and tired Star Trek theme.

Jpch doesn't understand what deductive reasoning is.

Some of us are able to make intuitive leaps from the facts to answer the question posed at the beginning of the thread because there are no canonical answers that reconcile Scorpion with In the Flesh without at least one of these fictional characters having an IQ under 50.

Its still an explanation, its better then their motives changing between episodes, with only possible explanation is they are wimps who become scared sheep when you give them a bloody nose. It would have been nice if the episode flat out gave this explanation for this behavior change, instead of having us guess it.

How about if the humans have something about humanity that they want which they didn't know they wanted until the imitated humans.. only instead of some high falutin' wonders of humanity deal it's something HORRIBLE.

You can say a lot of odd things about L. Ron Hubbard, but when his aliens invaded Earth, they came for our heroin.

Yes. Something just like that only I was thinking more the heroin of the soul.

Humanity poisons Species 8479 with schadenfreude, an experience so far removed from Species 8472's existence that when it was introduced via imitation it brought them to their multiple limbed knees. And from that moment on they wanted it bad.

You know that the best emotional heroin ever is about 10,000 times less powerful than real heroin?

Advertising (And Naked Lunch) would have you believe that with heroin you can type with the power of your mind.... Yes, Roberta was on heroin in Assignment Earth.

    OH?

Is that why L. Ron Called his novels Assignment Earth too?

Earth II, now there's a fricking disaster.

    Whatever became of Rebecca Gayheart?

I remember in my adolescence I was inspired by The Basketball Diaries to see beauty in decay.

That photo on the book cover reminds me now of the Wraith.

I have completely replaced all literary spaces in my head whether they be beatnik or classical with science fiction.

There isn't enough new science fiction to hold the line in your brain.

In ten years, less, your head is just going to be glut of police procedural shows.

    That will NEVER happen.

I will go back to heroin chic before CSI grows a pimple on my consciousness.

Not even if they stuntcast the entire female cast of Voyager as CSI Cleveland?

That would be you standing between Jennifer Lien and a paying gig!

    How shellfish!

    Okay I give in.

Jennifer can be the prossy in the lockup.

Mulgrew is of course the hardbitten boss sergeant lady person.

Dawson can be the chief investigator and Ryan can be her love interest and just to throw a bone to viewers who are not me Wang can be the body they are flensing away at in the lab.

Wang can't be the body every week.

I suppose he could be in the cold locker, and they keep opening his drawer for different reasons each week?

Does he get full residuals if we just see his toes?

The men will take turns every week.

You will only see Wang's toes but you will see a full body forensic autopsy on Beltran.

Obviously Beltran will get more money for that episode since he will have to lie completely still and show no change of expression as they lift varying sheets from varying body zones. I'm sure he will be very good at this though.
