"Space, the final frontier"

It's probably inevitably that the classic voice-over will appear at some point in the movie, after all it's highly iconic. The main question is where does it show up?

Personally, I think they'll probably take a cue from Casino Royale and save it for the end. At least that's what I hope they do, based on what we know about the movie, I'm not sure if it would work that well anywhere else.

I have to agree. The 007 reboot has done quite well and I think this new Trek film will do well also. Granted, not a fan of anything Abrams has done thus far, but hopefully he gets it. A Nimoy voice over at the end of the film would be a classic moment in the making.

Since they're turning several conventions (no pun intended) of Trek on their heads, why not the "final frontier" speech as well? They could have Britney Spears or Snoop Dogg read it, and pepper the whole thing with f-bombs and references to Kirk's cock.

"Space.... the final fu**ing frontier b**ches. These be da mutha-f***in voyages of the Pimp-Ship Enterprise. It's mission ta explore strange sh*t, and to seek out mo green b*****s. To boldly f**kin go where no f**kers have gone before."

Sorry... I tried... :p

It appears there's a split infinitive in that last sentence. It should be "To go f**kin boldly where no f**ckers have gone before." Other than that it looks absolutely perfect.

LOL... you're not the dude from No Kill I - DS9 are you?

Maybe at the end, right before the Enterprise leaps off into warp and the credits roll, if at all.

Actually, this brings up a good question. If we get the speech, will it be "These are the voyages of the starship, Enterprise. Its five-year mission or Its continuing mission"?

And will it be "...to boldly go where no man or no one has gone before"?

More importantly, if this is a real re-boot, hopefully they can fix that split infinitive. "to go boldly..."

I do hope the use "The Words". I was dissapointed with Enterprise not using those hallmark words to open the show.

I am of the opinion that every captain of a starship Enterprise should have a chance at them... even Rachael Garrett and Ferris Buellers bud Cameron. :)

While I have no idea on the former, I would guess "man" on the latter. Dunno why, just a hunch.

That may be grammatically correct, but if you accept the common usage of f**k as an intensifier, I'd say it's acceptable ;).

I really hope the line isn't Nimoy's only piece of dialog. He will probably say it, but if he is doing a cameo, hopefully it's a lot bigger than that.

I really think if we hear "the words" at all, it'll be at the very end, and they'll be done by Pine, possibly even including "five year mission", depending on what's led up to the film's last moments.

If he can get Shatner's inflections and delivery...I'd be pretty impressed.

But I'm kind of torn about wanting it in.... if it's in there for a dramatically sound reason, I'm all for it but if it's in there just to BE in there, I'd rather they just come up with their own material.

Maybe Kirk gives the 'Space, the final frontier' speech to McCoy, and that's why he says
'Space is full of disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence.' ;)

I would almost be impressed if they did that.... a little cheap and too acknowledging fourth-wallish.... but it'd be freakin' hilarious!:)
