"Space Seed" Line-by-Line!

[LeadHead]

The outer door opens, Spock and his escort enter the area, Kirk takes cover. Once Spock and the guard pass Kirk, Kirk attacks him, letting Spock subdue him with a Neck Pinch easily.

Spock: Surprised to see you, Captain. Though pleased.

 

[Admiral Shran]

Kirk: I'm a little pleased myself. Situation?

 

[Captain Robert April]

SPOCK: Khan is holding our staff in the briefing room. His men have control of the ship.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Our only chance is the intruder control circuit. Although he's cut it off at the Bridge.

 

[Admiral Shran]

Spock: There's a relay junction down the corridor.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Gas all decks except this one.

 

[Leandar]

(Briefing room)


Khan: Armory, this is Khan. Report. (nothing) Rodriguez. (nothing) Ling. (nothing) McPherson. (nothing) Anyone, report status!



(Gas starts coming out of the ventilation grill. Khan flees, Scotty hits a guard and gives chase. Everyone else coughs)

 

[Admiral Shran]

In the Hallway....

Kirk: Where's Khan?

 

[LeadHead]

Scotty: I don't know.....He got out just as the gas...

 

[Leandar]

(Scotty collapses as the intercom whistles)

Kirk: Kirk here.

 

[Admiral Shran]

Spock (on intercom): Anesthesia gas in all sections except Engineering. Someone just closed that line.

In Engineering....

Spock (on intercom): Captain, acknowledge. Unable to flood Engineering Section. I suspect...

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: (over comm) Anesthesia Gas in all sections except Engineering. Someone just closed that line.

Kirk takes off running.

Meanwhile, Khan is in Engineering at a control station, patched into the communications

Spock: (over comm) Captain, Acknowledge. Unable to flood Engineering section. I suspect-

 

[Leandar]

Scotty (on com): This is Scott. Captain's headed for the Engineering section. I'll follow in case...

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: (over comm) Negative. We must retake the vessel while the anesthesia lasts. Meet me in the armory. I'm blowing it clear first. Spock out.

 

[Leandar]

(Kirk dashes into Engineering and straight into Khan, who easily disarms him then crushes the phaser. Then an alarm beeps)

KHAN: If I understood your manuals, that's an overload in progress. Your ship flares up like an exploding sun within minutes. (The two fight. Khan can throw Kirk around with little effort) I have five times your strength. You're no match for me. (But Kirk gets himself a weapon and clubs Khan into unconsciousness before stopping the overload and saving his ship)

***Afterthought: You know, that's a pivotal scene, lasting a few minutes. It almost seems kinda pitiful to see it compressed to such a small bit with just dialogue and description. lol

 

[LeadHead]

Captains Log Stardate 3143.3 Control of the Enterprise has been regained. I wish my next decisions were no more difficult. Khan and his people. What a waste to put them in a reorientation center. And what do I do about McGivers?

 

[Leandar]

(Briefing room - The senior staff are in dress uniform again)


Uhura: Record tapes engaged and ready, Captain.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: This hearing is now in session. Under the authority vested in me by Starfleet Command, I declare all charges and specifications in this matter have been dropped.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Jim. Agreed, you have the authority...

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Mister Spock, our heading takes us near the Ceti Alpha Star system?
