Seems reasonable enough. They might find it amusing but be sympathetic. There's likely a lot of Star Trek fans in NASA. Remember the rollout of the shuttle test vehicle named Enterprise. I'm also not sure even the director of NASA can change its name. It might require Congressional approval. It would also be very expensive to change the branding.
