Not a fan film, of course, but of interest to fanfilm makers.

Nice, saw the rather underwhelming trailer on trekmovie - but this scene is very nicely acted.

But holy moly what where they thinking with that matte painting at the 2 minute mark :(

Why post this in fan productions? I thought this is a professional production, well funded and with it´s own IP?

It was discussed here a while back. If I put it in another section people here wouldn't necessarily see it. But the mods can move it if necessary.

It was nicely acted but it's much too long. My attention started to wander after a while.

Both Picardo and Jones do a fine job of acting. However, the scene is just flat. It's all backstory that's told to us and it goes on far too long, as others have said. Honestly, it feels a bit like some of the more talky scenes in "Babylon 5."

Well acted for the most part, but the scene is talky, unimaginatively directed, and and a technical mess (the sound is bad, the editing manages to feel both choppy and laborious, and the visual effects are rather unconvincing).

The technical parts can be fixed, and I assume they will, but the rest...

We'll see. I admire Zicree for having the ambition to do something that isn't another fan film, and I want to afford him the benefit of the doubt until I can see the final product. But he has a lot of convincing to do.

Hard to judge from such a small piece; I was not overly impressed but I still believe that my money went to a good cause. We shall see!!!

Trope-y trope trope dialog. The first line killed it for me. Never open with the "humans are special" trope.

It would seem I'm digging on it more than most so far:

I like this about it. The alien guy's design even kind of reminds me of the Minbari. I also like the fake toward the "humans are special" trope and then wryly undercutting it with "chimpanzees could not have done all this... not without significant modification." :D

I've been following Space Command with interest and really like Jones' and Picardo's work here. This makes me want to see and know more. Thanks to Maurice for posting.

And the Comic Con trailer was just released online:

First impression —*looks like "Star Trek" and "Babylon 5" had a baby. ;)

Well, it's not hard to see why Doug Drexler and other behind-the-scenes folks jumped ship.

I still admire the ambition, but...it sure looks like Marc Scott Zicree is biting off more than he can chew here.

I have only seen Mira Furlan in B5 but she always commands the scenes she's in. If there's any reason for me to watch this, it's to see her.

Overall, though, it does look like the story is going in too many directions at once.
