I'm sorry, but the last episodes of Yamato crossed the boundaries of "fanservice" and stepped in the realm of pure sexism. I have to say that they made me a little uncomfortable.Different levels of "fanservice". Sometimes its the girls.

So, finished up the 2199 Blu-ray sets. Is there a Region A Blu-ray of Odyssey of the Celestial Arc?
Yep - althoough ith everything else Fuunimation has done WRT SBY:2199 and 2202, I'm surprised they (I'm assuming of course) didn't also get bthe rights to, and do Odyssey of the Celestial Arc; was there something unique about its production team/situation in Japan that would cause a North American rights issue? The Japanese Blu-ray is Region Free for that film. And Japan is Region A to start with anyway.
(The only reason I bought a BD player in 2012 was because the Japanese Yamato 2199 discs were Region Free and had subtitles. I wanted it as soon as possible. It helps that regardless, Japan and North America are Region A.)
Plus it already has English subtitles.
Are you referring to "Ark of Stars", or something else?![]()
March 26 for Part One of 2202. When searching, it only lists the Special Edition, click on it and it will give you a list for the SE or a plain release.
I already have mine pre-ordered.

No problem. Because I hyperfocus and have a little too much time on my hands, here's an even bigger album of reference stuff. Thanks very much. Yeah, I need to get back to these soon. Had some other projects take precedence recently.
I'm not sure where many of the ones with 2202 ships are from- I found them on Japanese language websites. I would link to where the 2199 official art books are, but the site hosting them is decidedly NSFW. I can PM you the links if that would work. Those are REALLY nice! What books are those from? I recognize a couple of them, but many are things I've been looking for and never found. Could you post the covers of those books? I'd like to try to track them down to scan in higher resolution. Your photos are good but there's a lot of perspective distortion in many of them.
Oooh that looks *awesome*. I can't wait until I either get money of my own or scans of it start popping up online. Then I can start modeling things! There is a new book coming out for Yamato 2202:
Space Battleship Yamato 2202 -All Records- Setting Part.1 Complete Works (Art Book)
Its recent and there should be a second one out eventually. Seems to be like the Gamilas and Earth books from Yamato 2199, but I have limited data on these (and I've not been to our local Japantown to see if they have any)
