Well both the Eagles and Vipers can operating in space and planetary atmosphere so even if not necessary during space flight still need to be in primary flight display.

Also think it would help those onboard to be oriented the right way. I'm sure the craft could fly no problems on it's side, the disorientation of the passengers and crew would be pretty nasty though.

Forgetting about any atmospheric capacity, the Eagles are supposed to launch from a Moonbase to orbit, so a (lunar) ground indicator makes sense. A moonbase landing is the standard return to base, pre-breakaway.

Mentioning misaligned interiors, for the second season, that access corridor that bridged the pilot module with the detachable passenger module was totally removed. I real life I assume it was for ease of filming (fewer lights to position, fewer stage hands to operate sliding doors, easier camera setups to capture activity at one end or the other, etc.

Think it was still there in S2 - was watching Bringers Of Wonders part 1 today and it seemed it was still there - we just don't see the to doors (though the cockpit door is closed at one point).

In the same eps we have another good and a show of why the lack of a airlock was a bad design - after Koenig crashed, the rescue team has to get him out plus they are shown as putting out the fires but wouldn't the fires have gone out as soon as the door opened and pod exposed the vacuum even if only for few seconds.

Tonight's episodes were positively awful. What a bunch of dimwits. Three years with their commander and not one of them noticed his hairstyle had suddenly changed? Alan Carter might be a great pilot, but he's as dumb as a post with his blind loyalty even in the face of overwhelming evidence and his shoot first, ask questions later philosophy. Tony and Maya shoot out a mirror and both immediately step into the trap rather than one waiting outside. Tony traps a creature in a vacuum chamber (why he didn't blow it out of an airlock makes no sense, especially since Koenig successfully used that ploy the previous season) then opens the door in short order. Why? There was no pressing need to examine the corpse. I would have left the door shut. Vacuum didn't affect the creature, so it obviously doesn't breathe, so why did they think chlorine would affect it? Fraser, the crewman setting up the electrical trap, moved with zero sense of urgency, as if he had all day.

And what was with those laser rifles? Seems like they were single-shot devices. They'd each fire once then immediately switch to using them as cudgels.

What you're describing the characters offering as an in-universe observation is what's commonly called "hanging a lantern" on something that the writers know the audience is likely to recognize as utter bullshit.
