Sons of Anarchy - The Final Season

Pretty much, coming back from Ireland waiting for the show to deal with Clay and Gemma, and Jax's club vs Tara choice was annoying. Good ending, but those issues would have been better handled straight after Ireland in the 4th and 5th seasons and ended there. The ramping up to CIA involvement just made it a cartoon.

Well, that was... pretty mediocre.

I really don't get the homeless chick bit. Was she supposed to be the personification of Death/Mr. Mayhem or something? And if so, what role did she play previously? I vaguely recognized her at all.

Interesting interpretation from Vanity Fair:

Vanity Fair wrote:

The Shakespearean parallels in Sons of Anarchy have always been completely obvious. Jax = Hamlet, Tara = Ophelia, Gemma = Gertrude, Clay = Claudius, etc. etc. But if you were brushing up on your Shakespeare in order to predict the series finale of Sons of Anarchy, you were reading the wrong book. So many main characters died to get us to the finale—Opie, Clay, Bobby, Tara, Juice, Gemma, Unser, etc.—that you would be forgiven if you thought it was Act V of Hamlet, the stage littered with bodies, and only the prince’s death remaining. But Jax Teller wasn’t Hamlet last night, he was Jesus Christ himself as he rode to his death.

^^ The whole article is worth reading for this particular perspective on Jax, the series as a whole and the finale.

As for the homeless lady, she's appeared in the series sporadically, going all the way back to the pilot. I think it's great that it's left ambiguous as to who she's supposed to be (possibly) representing, but also very clearly obvious who she is given all the religious imagery in the finale.
