Something that will get me to buy the TNG DVDs again.

ROFL!

I'm ok with selecting the next episode after watching one. Then again I don't usually watch them all in sequence anyway, just the ones I want.

Sometimes with my TV DVDs I just like to sit down hit "play" sitback and enjoy. No "Play All" button kind of puts a kink in that.

I still wish they had all the previews to the episodes with the DVD sets. That, and some better features, and maybe some commentary. Those sets that were released could have been so much more.

I like to put in the DVD and let it play while I do the house stuff. A play all feature sure would be helpful for that.

But I won't buy the sets again just for a play all button.

My big wish is for the creaters to omit those irritating start-up screens that you can't skip over. Here in the U.K. you have to watch the Enterprise warp past and then sit through the characters making dramatic facial expressions, their faces inexplicably superimposed on a planet before you can watch any episodes.

It was kinda cool the first couple of times, but when you play your Star Trek DVDs every day you get quite annoyed with it.

I really don't mind those all that much (the other series sets have something similar) as it gets me in the "mood" for the show, even if I'm watching a lot of episodes. I also like wathcing the LCARS interface (which I loved having on there) "boot up" with a reflection of the room in the glass. Interactve and animated menus and menu "boot up screens" are so common on DVDs these days that I've gotten used to waiting through them.

Audio/text commentary, outakes, a blooper reel, better video and the previews would do. And to skip the unskipable would be nice, too.

Oh yeah. Chapter stops after the opening credits. Some of the episodes have the first chapter stop well into the episode.

I HATE that, too! I'm sure there are fans who want to watch the opening credits of a series every time, but not me. And then it is so frustrating to rewind to the right position right after the credits.

That'd make a compelling reason for me that'd get me to consider buying the whole series again as would a play all button, or extra commentaries, blooper reel, and the original teasers.

However not only would it need all, if not most of those, it would need a retail price of under $200 for all 7 seasons.

I love those too, they're really well designed aren't they? But the start-up screens do get tiresome for me. I normally choose the language and then go fix a snack or something so I don't have to sit through them.

I guess it's the same with the opening credits. I used to sit right through them but I normally just skip past them now. And I definately agree that having the end of Chapter One anywhere other than the end of the credits is annoying!

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) has rated a few new features for the big boxset:

00:27:35:13 THE NEXT GENERATION'S IMPACT 20 YEARS LATER
00:24:59:12 THE NEXT GENERATION'S LEGACY: 2007
00:23:48:21 INCOMING TRANSMISSION - STARFLEET COMMAND
00:00:40:02 SPECIAL THANKS TO STEPHEN R. WOLCOTT (the DVD producer)

I assume this is what will be on the bonus disc. If there's anything else, it hasn't been announced yet.
