Something I just noticed...

tharpdevenport

Admiral
Admiral
Picard has a nack for beaming beamed away by the enemy.

"Best of Both Worlds -- Part 1"
Borg beam him off the Bridge.

"The High Ground"
Again, off the Bridge he goes!

"Star Trek: Insurrection"
Away he goes from a planet surface after being tagged.

Anymore sintances?

Which is funny, because all three were either written (The Best of Both Worlds and Insurrection) or produced (The High Ground) by Michael Piller. :vulcan:

Then again, I really love the bit in "Contagion" where he's beamed off the Romulan warbird in the nick of time... Picard's almost apologetic look is priceless!

Transporters are a wonderful plot element in Trek. If only the writers could use them with sufficient skill and moderation.

Which was really stupid. When he was on the planet setting the self-destruct to the machine thing, why didn't he just wait for the doorway to cycle back to the Enterprise instead of walking through it when the Warbird appeared?

Because that outpost was about to explode?

Only because Picard set the auto-destruct sequence. The doorway kept cycling through different locations and then repeating them. Data (and Worf?) went through when the Enterprise showed in the doorway. Picard could have timed it so that he keyed the machine's auto destruct when the Enterprise appeared again and then stepped through.

I haven't watched the episode in years but the very first time I saw it I thought, "why didn't he just wait for the Enterprise to show up again?"

I think data said there is no way to tell how long it would take the probe to over load after you hit the last button.
