So With All Of The Alternate or Parallel Universes Is There A First?

Re: So With All Of The Alternate or Parallel Universes Is There A Firs

Universe Eight is an odd one. It takes place in the 27th Century and debuted in The Squire of Gothos
I can't wait to see your explanation of how this universe and the one with the Salt Vampire are the same one. Trelane said he was looking through his telescope at Earth... yet he had a Salt Vampire decorating his foyer. :wtf:
Who can say how long that Salt Vampire had been there. If it was there at all. Trelane and his possessions are all fake. He probably ran across it somewhere and added it to his collection or made a copy of it. You know how kids are.
Trelane the entity wasn't fake. But he specifically stated that he'd created his drawing room and the surrounding environment to match that of Earth (the Earth he thought he was seeing).

So why was there a Salt Vampire in the foyer? Did their species visit Earth hundreds of years ago? :vulcan:

Of course Trelane the entity wasn't fake. But everything else on Gothos was. He said it was inspired from his observations of Earth. But, kids are weird, they'll combine things that don't normally go together if it's cool. So Trelane tossed Salt Vampire in his 18th Century Earth play set. Also a funky bird creature, half seen in the Cage. In fact, many of Trelane "trophies" seem to be extra-terrestrial.

Also, we don't really know how old Trelane is, how long he's been doing this, or how far planet M-113 is from Gothos. He may have been observing other worlds for thousands of years before spotting Earth. He may have seen Salt Vampires when there millions of them. Perhaps he even kidnapped them like he did Kirk and Sulu. We don't even know what world he's originally from, he created Gothos himself.
FATHER: Stop that nonsense at once, or you'll not be permitted to make any more planets.

Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebel's hidden fort...

Well, technically the religion is ancient regardless of whether it was practiced 30 years ago or not. And essentially calling something 'outdated' and 'backwards' would be exactly the kind of insult I might expect from someone with an active derision for the religion. How many times have people dismissed modern religions by using similar phrases, especially in relation to the age of their specific holy books? I've seen it happen a number of times myself.

Exactly. "Ancient religion" doesn't mean that nobody has practiced it for centuries; just that it's been around a long time--and, yes, maybe regarded as obsolete by some.

Unanticipated side-effect of the Clone Wars?

Here in the Prime Universe (see what I did there? ;)), there have been various examples of totalitarian regimes implementing state atheism and, within a relatively short period, making lots of people think that still-extant religions were just ancient feudal superstitions to be cast aside.
Especially after ROTS and the Emperor vilifying the Jedi, and then two decades of indoctrination, propaganda, and information control, it's understandable that a loyal Imperial officer such as whats-his-face on the Death Star would derisively refer to Jedi practice as "that ancient religion."

Anyway, the Prime Universe is the one in which transporters, faster-than-light travel, and aliens don't exist, there were no Eugenics wars in the 1990s, and Star Trek is a fictional media franchise. :p

Until one showed up. (Ultraa and later Superboy Prime)And it predates Crisis by many years, first appearing in 1968. ( Flash #179)

Yeah but Superboy Primes earth was by the anti monitor destroyed shortly after he became a Superboy. I read crisis many years ago but didn't know Earth Prime was mentioned before. Pretty Sweet
