So. Will Viacom/CBS sell the Star Trek franchises?

There is a rumor going around that because of various reasons, Viacom/CBS might sell The Trek franchise. That would mean no more "Discovery". or "Picard". It almos might mean that Kurtzman would lose his job.

Deals can be broken ... Happens all the time. Viacom/CBS needs money to remain solvent, and to keep the merger intact. From what I understand, people are NOT buying the merchandise.

Your prayers have already been answered...

Why is it people who post these 'rumors' can never cite sources? Where are these rumors going around? What are their sources? Are there any beyond the fever dreams of haters and YouTube channels desperate for more clicks?

Source or it ain't happenin.'

And, just so you know, if you've kept up with any of the actual news about Trek, you'd know none of that is true. You do know that CBS has just announced a new Pike series, right?

Let's ask Elvis.

He's on his secret island, but don't worry. I know where it is.

I wonder what it would accomplish for them to sell it? First of all, it is an expensive property to assume ownership of. Secondly, there is no guarantee they will return to anything like whatever Trek people want.

Finally, if CBS is making money on Star Trek then they are more likely to make more Trek. Where is the harm again?
