So who should play Kirk

It's a very good manip PD18. His height is closer to Shatner - body build is better for a young Kirk. He'll bring a young audience demographic with him. It's workable.

Ackles would be a good choice but as one of only two leads on the tv series Supernatural it would be almost impossible for him to film a movie while filming that series.

YEAH! I've said this before. Of all of the current actors I've seen in the past few years, I really like Jensen Ackels. I also think he is very much under used in Supernatural. Loved him in Dark Angel!

I did too, especially after seeing The Bourne Ultimatum this weekend. While MD isn't a dead-ringer for a young Shats, he is a good enough actor that I think he could pull it off.

Not being familiar with Eion Bailey, I looked up his photo and agree that he does seem to have the look. I'm guessing that J.J. has indeed chosen someone, and it's only a matter of time before he reveals the rest of the cast.

There's nothing wrong with William Shatner playing an older Kirk should they be able to fit him into the script along with Leonard Nimoy but there's no way he can play 20-something. Someone else has to be cast as the young Kirk.

William Shatner will be the only Kirk I willl ever care for. Kirk is a legend, and this upcoming film will totally trash that. He started out as CAPTAIN Kirk, we don't want to see Lt. Cmdr. Kirk. It would have been one thing if GR wanted to do flashbacks during TOS, it's quite another to go back after 42 years. I think that is rediculous.
