So What Happened to Jake After His Dad...Ascended?

I thought Jake would explore the Bajoran faith, and learn more about the wormhole aliens so he could find a way to meet his father again. He would gain a better understanding of the religion and become a local hero being the son of Sisko; maybe even live in the home Benjamin built on Bajor. I would like to think his belief will shadow an obsession to get his father back, probably get into Orb addictions to gain signs of the whereabouts of his father. I would think Jake would even take risks and travel into the wormhole and wait forever until he could make contact with his father again.

 

If I recall, in the novels he becomes a full time writer and journalist and is alive and well in the early 25th century.
