No, I get that, and I thank you for clarifying it yet again. You were quite eloquent the first time around, and I completely understood your words!
I wrote the review before I had that information, and haven't yet had a chance to change it. What I meant when I said "I just gave that history" was your second point, the part that I quoted. I'm sorry if I was unclear... I thought you'd know what I meant from the selection that I quoted.
There! I've tweaked my review with the new info. One of the annoying things about living in Korea is that I'm asleep when most of the Trek-reading audience is awake, meaning I can be a little slow to respond to people reading my blog and/or forum posts.
I finished Against the Tide of Years by S.M. Stirling a few days ago. I'm now reading Star Trek: A Choice of Catastrophes.
Just got back from my honeymoon, where I read the following:
It took me two months, but I finally finished Henry Fielding's Tom Jones yesterday. Overall I really liked it. He's a very good writer.
After puttering around the library for a good 90 minutes or so this afternoon, not really having my interest grabbed by anything, I settled on Latro In The Mist by Gene Wolfe. It's a one-volume edition of a duology narrated by a Roman mercenary in Greece who loses his short-term memory and can see the gods. Only 30 pages in, so that's all I know.
I started reading Wolfe's Book of The Long Sun awhile back, but was forced to put it down because I didn't have the time to read it then. But I like his prose very much.

Just finished Star Trek: Titan Taking Wing and started on Peter David's Star Trek: The Next Generation: A Rock and a Hard Place.
Also, a few years ago I read Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell...An excellent read!!

I'm still reading Ark. I have so many books on my reading list, it would take up much of the forum and then some.
I just finished The City in Mind: Notes on the Urban Condition by James Howard Kunstler; Bicycle Diaries by David Byrne; and Incognito: the Secret Lives of the Brain by David Eagleman. All fairly good reads, but the last was excellent.
I really should finish DTI and Children of the Storm...I bought them when they came out, read half of each, misplaced both, found them later, and could never pick up where I was. It's especially bad with DTI because I think I need to re-read the entire thing over again just to get my mind back in the mystery, whereas [Children of the Storm isn't quite as complex.
(I didn't so much misplace them as someone decided to "put them up" and removed them from the coffee table. Turns out they were stuck in a bag without my knowledge, and I tossed the bag into a trunk of summer stuff not realizing it had the books inside!

I just finished Unworthy, and you guys were right - significant improvement. The writing in particular has matured a good deal - I spent a lot of Full Circle feeling like I was reading what my own writing would be like, if I had ever managed to actually finish anything. In a lot of ways this felt like a two-parter, where the first half pulled everything apart, and the second put it all back together again.

Robert Heinlein's "Podkayne of Mars"--could have been better, but interesting novel
Mickey Spillane's "The Long Wait" --Not very interesting...stopped halfway
Adrian Tan's "The Teenage Textbook" --Pretty funny...
Adrian Tan's "The Teenage Workbook" --Sequel to the above book, pretty good, but too many characters and situations introduced. Not as good as the first, but still fun.

My questions exactly. I am surprised someone got through 1 book haha, that is just crazy.
I finally finished Ark by Stephen Baxter. I'm in the middle of another book and will probably finish it before starting a new book.
