If I remember correctly the author of The Devil's Heart was Jean Lorrah. She also wrote a book about Data and Tasha Yar prior to her demise in the first season.
Nope, Devil's Heart was Carmen Carter. She also wrote Dreams of the Raven, Children of Hamlin, and was a co-writer on Doomsday.
You might be thinking of Metamorphosis, it's the pseudo-sequel to Lorrah's earlier book Survivors (the Yar one you mentioned) where Data becomes a human. (Sequel mostly only in the sense that it includes characters from Survivors)
Going through Jonathon Hickman's first three volumes of "Fantastic Four".
Just finished Vanguard: Open Secrets by Dayton Ward. Vanguard is shaping up to be just as amazing as everyone else has pointed out. I just hope that my next read, A Time for War, A Time for Peace by Keith R.A. DeCandido, lives up to the hype as well. But, knowing KRAD, I think that's a safe bet.
Read that Star Trek: Nero comic yesterday.
I've spent far too long the last few days on Wikipedia's generated pdf ebook (epic collection of related articles) about Superman. I find the evolution of the story and legend of more interest than the stories themselves.
Still reading CSI: Shock Treatment, but also reading Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series from the beginning. Working on Body of Evidence at the moment. Hope to finish Shock Treatment tonight so I can start on Cast no Shadow tomorrow.
I'm loving it. I love the idea of the TV show. Where did you get the idea for it? Is there a show similar to that on one of the cable channels or MTV?

Should really be closer to 3 1/2 stars...........
The first book in the Titan series of books ended up being a fairly enjoyable ride for the most part, though at times it was far too preachy about the diversity of the crew and tolerance. While the main story about how the crew of the Titan come together and what their first mission is like (and apparently the beginning of their next one given the cliff-hanger ending) is a pretty good story with a nice balance of action and dialogue, it was often undercut by the almost Sesame street-esque preaching about accepting all races, orientations, etc, etc. While I certainly agree with the basic concept of acceptance and understanding, this was too much, too often and too preachy.
So, aside from that issue I will say I loved Riker as captain and I enjoyed the crew he assembled for the most part. I'm a bit tired of seeing Ogawa every time I turn around but I enjoyed the mix of new crew members to old ones. I especially like Vale joining as first officer from her time in the Time To series and I think Tuvok will make a nice place for himself on the crew as well.
All in all, a good start to a series that has some pretty nice potential.

I've seen those books on the shelves at the bookstore from time to time, but have never really gotten a good feel for the topic from the blurbs. I have heard they are really good, but I have a pretty narrow window of reading I'll tolerate in my non-Trek sphere (due to time constraints).
Any overviews you could share?
As for current 'reading', I finished the 2001 audio yesterday, and started on my annual audio revisit of The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke today.

So, KRAD has managed to do something I thought impossible - made me WANT to read stories about Klingons. The universe just inverted itself.
He did that for me too... which stinks, because I am a Romulan nut! Imagine the wars going on inside my head!
