So what are you reading now (Part 4)?

Reading The Devil's Punchbowl, a...legal/political/crime thriller in a southern gothic style. Good for Halloween weekend reading.

I recently read Zero Sum Game and Live Free or Die (by John Ringo). I'm looking forward to Ringo's sequels. I also read a Tor.com original by John Scalzi (After the Coup), but that was just a short story.

Since I'm only 80ish pages from the end of Immortal Coil, I've decided to go back to Seven Deadly Sins. I'm picking it back up with the Cardassian story, Envy: The Slow Knife by James Swallow.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. When I read this as a kid, I thought Nemo's ship was like an underwater Enterprise.
I thought that about seaQuest DSV.

I'm not reading anything at the moment since we just moved and haven't unpacked the books yet--haven't even put up the bookcases yet--but I will be returning to the reading world very soon.

And the library will be my very best friend until I get some money.

Just subscribed to Analog on Kindle so working my way through that. Pretty good so far. Think I'll stick with it. But it's an awful lot of get through. I'd like to get Asimov's too but I don't think I'd get through it all.

Gradually working my way through THE GREEN HORNET CHRONICLES. Read Bob Greenburger's story the other day. (Hi, Bob!)

Just took a plane trip from LA to Boston and back. The spoils:

- The Sheriff Of Yrnameer (sci-fi novel by a Daily Show writer). 4/10
- Worlds of DS9: Trill. 8/10
- The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. 10/10
- The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe. 9/10
- The Delta Anomaly. 6/10
- Consider Phlebas. 7/10, but I'm interested enough to read the other Culture novels.

Next up: the young adult trilogy that starts with The Hunger Games; I'm looking for sci-fi to recommend my high school students.

Just finished Zero Sum, Memory Prime, and Forged in Fire. (didnt intend to read 3 books at once it just ended up that way).
Just started the A time to Series on my android phone.

Just starting on The Surgeon's Mate, the eighth Aubrey-Maturin book. I may not finish the series before New Year's, but with continued fair winds and calm seas I should have ticked off a large number of miles by the chart.

Also reading Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book for my book club.

I finished Demons. It was disappointing. McCoy acted very stupidly throughout. Interesting bits were meeting the real Sellik ("Yesteryear", yes he looks and sounds just like Spock) and the flashbacks to a young Amanda and Sarek. Everyone loved Mary Sue, as usual. Mary Sue was revealed to be a Starfleet Intelligence agent, as usual. Mary Sue was Spock's intellectual equal, as usual.

I was gonna read the TNG sequel, Possesion, but...I think I'll try something else.

I loooove Aubrey-Maturin! Best pairing since Kirk/Spock! I try to only read one O'Brian a year though- don't want to finish them too quickly.

Am looking forward to my junk reading over the holidays (about to read Mandela's The Long Walk to Freedom in preparation for visiting South Africa. On my list:

The Reverse of the Medal (O'Brian, book 11)
Nemesis (from the Horus Heresy series, book 13)
Worth Dying For (Lee Child's 15th 'Jack Reacher' novel)
