I am reading A Short Victorious War by David Weber

I think the Vorkosigan series by Bujold is better than Weber's series but it occurred to me that Bujold explained what it is about Weber that is better. There is a scene in A Civil Campaign where Miles explains something about his childhood. He tells how he got to watch his granfather's political power games behind closed doors. Bujold doesn't put much of that into her stories but Weber does.

Weber is more of a military historian though it shows in the Vor series too. But even though Weber gets kind of heavy handed with his politics to the point of being annoying he can be educational even if you disagree with him.

I have never seen a science fiction society where accounting was mandatory for EVERYBODY. What would that be like?

Ever heard of The Short Victorious Vor?
