So What Are you Reading?: Generations

Finished Headhunter earlier today. Very solid book, a tad weaker than Greg's other CSI novel Shock Treatment IMO, but definitely a fun read.

Well, Headhunter was my first stab at a CSI book. Glad to hear the learning curve is heading in the right direction!

Definitely wouldn't mind to read another CSI novel by you, but it seems as if they have stopped to produce them (?).

To be honest, I don't know if that's true or not. I haven't talked to anybody at Pocket about CSI for months. I hope not. I've already done a Grissom novel and a Langston novel, so I suppose I ought to do a book with Ted Danson's character, too! :)

Edit: This is in response to Greg.

^ FWIW The only indication I'm going by is that the last one was published in July (I think), and I haven't seen another one listed at Amazon yet. So there probably are plans for more, and they're waiting until the new lead character is more established.

Just bought Tied In: The Business, History and Craft of Media Tie-In Writing , edited by Lee Goldberg and I think I'll read that before I'll start with the Fantastic Four novel.

I had it on my "potential reading" list for a while and today I noticed that the price for the Kindle version was down to less than 1 €, so I figured "Why not?".

Finished Republic Commando: Hard Contact yesterday, and I have to agree, it's as good as everyone says. Started Roads Not Taken: Tales of Alternate History today. Star Trek: Typhon Pact - The Struggle Within is on deck since I already read Blind Man's Bluff when it came out in TP.

I finished Tied In earlier today, and I'm not quite clear what to think of it, yet.

It's all over the place, not only concerning the quality of the various articles in it, but also with the intended target audience. Some of the articles seem to be targeted at the readers of tie-in novels, while others read like they are meant to be a guide for aspiring tie-in writers. I guess that's one of the main symptoms of something that bothered me a bit about the book: A real common thread is missing in this book.

I also think it would have benefited from a tighter editing, as some points seems to be repeated over and over in different articles. (I don't really have to read multiple references to Max Allan Collins' hard time novelizing a movie based on his original story Road to Perdition when he is talking about this in his article, for example).

Overall worth a look if you're interested in Tie-in writing (especially at the price the eBook is going for at the moment), but it definitely has its weaknesses.

I finished Myriad Universes: The Embrace of Cold Architects the other day. I'm now reading Supernatural: Coyote's Kiss.

I just finished reading Choice of Catastrophies great TOS novel. I'm reading Star Trek renegade by Gene Deweese.I'm also reading the Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind.

Finished James Swallow's Titan novel, Synthesis. Review here! I'm now all caught up on Titan.

Right now, I'm reading Diane Duane's Doctor's Orders. Pretty great so far.
