So What Are you Reading?: Generations

I finished up The Amazing Spider-Man: New Ways to Live this morning, and I really enjoyed it.
Next up is the first Eureka comic, which has a story directly from the show's creators, Andrew Crosby and Jaime Palgia, a script by Brandon Hays, art by Diego Bareto, colors by Andrew Dalhouse and Digikore Studios, and letters by Marshall Dillon. It's going to be the first paperback comic collection I've read in quite a while, all of the other comics I've been reading have been digital.

The coffee table book about coffee tables was a fictional creation by Kramer on Seinfeld, although it’s possible someone has made one in reality.

I am rereading Star Wars: Death Star. The prison planet of Despayre is aptly named.

But... I HATED Ready Player One. It was, like, nothing but nerdgasm after nerdgasm after nerdgasm. Boring. And quite sexist. And not very well written.

So, I have no interest in the sequel.

I’m reading “New Maps of Hell” by Kingsley Amis. One of the first (if not THE first) serious looks at the science fiction field by someone outside the field. It’s from 1960. Amis was apparently a big fan of Frederick Pohl, and since I am as well, I agree with his take!

I still haven't read the first one, and after some of the stuff I've been hearing lately, like what @Daddy Todd just posted, I'm not sure if I'm going to bother.
I finished the Eureka comic yesterday, and decided to continue my Rogue One prequel and novelization read, and started Star Wars: Rebel Rising by Beth Revis.
Eureka comic was good, and I definitely recommend it for anyone who was a fan of the show. It gave us some nice backstory for Jo Lupo, which is something I don't think we got much of in the show.

Finished Ready Player Two. Very enjoyable book but still no big Star Trek scene. Maybe next time.
The only thing I would have liked was a longer epilogue.

Past the 85% point in Don Quixote. Closing in on the last 100 pages. Just past the jousting duel with the servant standing in for the faithless farm boy, which was called off because the servant fell madly in love with the young duenna the faithless farm boy had knocked up. Of course, nobody seems to give a damn about the duenna's feelings.

I finished my reread of Star Wars: Death Star today. It's still a great story that complements From a Certain Point of View nicely but with Legends underpinnings. I would definitely read a fanfic about the further adventures of the characters on that medical shuttle.

I started and finished Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader (short book). Voracious readers will probably find something they like in these essays, especially if they also like poetry. Some of the words thrown around would not be out of place from Beast in X-Men, if that helps inform your decision.

Some I enjoyed, some not so much. I think I preferred the Bughunt anthology (Aliens) more thought this one stuck more to having the Predator in every story rather than various Aliens (rather than just the Alien series Xenomorph)

Now in the last 100 pages of Don Quixote, and almost on the cusp of 90%. Quixote and Sancho have left the Duke and Duchess, still oblivious to having been the objects of ridicule and the targets of practical jokes at the hands of the entire duchy, and are lodging at an inn where they encounter people who have read the "Spurious Second Part" of Don Quixote, by Avellaneda.
