A lot more recognizable G1 Transformers in this trailer.
It has been years since i saw the first movie.....so was Bubmlebee here the whole time?I think it's a prequel to the other Transformers movies. Though I'm sure very little effort was put into continuity beyond broad strokes. For example, why does Optimus Prime already look like he's copied a Red and Blue semi-truck if he hasn't been to Earth yet?
We never thought you'd say that about any movie. This movie actually looks pretty good. I never thought I'd say that about a Transformers movie.
Some folks on the TFW2005 boards seem to be calling it a reboot. Please let it be so.So is this still set in the Micheal Bay Transformers universe, or is this the start of a new one?

Ok. I just wasn't sure because I thought I remembered hearing they were supposed to be rebooting Transformers and GI Joe into a shared Hasbro universe, but I wasn't sure if that was actually happening.Word on the street is that after TLK's failure, Paramount is hedging their bets on whether or not it is. Depending on how this installment performs, future movies could go either way. (I also suspect that the more G1 elements were added later in production, after TLK bombed. I.e. it started as a prequel and then they pivoted towards more of a reboot once it became clear that the Bayverse was outstaying its welcome. But that's just speculation.)
